🗣️ Today, we enjoyed the IEEE Distinguished Lecture by Augusto Neto, Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics and Applied Mathematics of the UFRN, Natal/RN, Brazil, and Senior IEEE Member. 🔹 In this talk, he provided a comprehensive overview of the LANCE facility, a state-of-the-art ecosystem of cutting-edge technologies designed for innovations and experimentations atop a 5G standalone open-source and O-RAN-enabled network system. The presentation delved into the innovative concept of Cloud-Network Slicing, exploring how this approach enables the creation of multiple virtualized and isolated end-to-end network partitions on a shared physical infrastructure towards affording slicing as a service at unprecedented flexibility and efficiency. 📆 Today, at 13:00, in our #NetworksWeeklySeminar, our PhD Student Pablo Saucedo de Miguel will talk about “Machine Learning for FPGAs accelerators”. 🔹 The presentation will showcase ongoing work aimed at evolving an ML-based receiver to operate in real-time on an FPGA, using quantization as the foundation for model reduction and the stack proposed by Xilinx/AMD for HLS compilation. Nuestro director Albert Banchs contó en Cadena SER Madrid Sur cómo la IA generativa puede crear contenidos educativos, ofrecer resúmenes, explicar temas en poco tiempo, y generar y corregir ejercicios. Blockchain scalability has been a persistent challenge limiting blockchain’s widespread adoption. 🔹 CML-IDS: Enhancing Intrusion Detection in SDN through Collaborative Machine Learning. Pegah Golchin, Postdoc at the Technical University of Darmstadt, will introduce a novel method called Collaborative ML-based IDS (CML-IDS), which involves deploying machine learning models in both the control and data planes to detect network attacks collaboratively.
