EY Abogados has once again advised Alantra Private Equity in its strategic acquisition of four additional dental laboratories, further consolidating a nationwide network of nearly 20 laboratories across Spain. This move reinforces Alantra’s leadership in the dental laboratory sector and sets the stage for future European expansion. EY Abogados provided comprehensive legal counsel throughout the transaction. The team was led by Susana Gómez Badiola (Partner), supported by Nacho Sevilla Sánchez (Senior Manager) and Jorge Garín Pérez (Manager). EY Abogados has played a pivotal role in the record-breaking €3.25 billion refinancing of two solar photovoltaic projects in Spain, advising Sonnedix on tax matters across Spain and other EU jurisdictions. The transactions represent a significant milestone for Sonnedix, marking the largest and most innovative refinancings in the company’s history. The tax advisory team at EY Abogados was led by Partner Silvia Alonso Garcia, supported by Senior Managers Noelia Baranda Sancho and Matilde Gómez Marín (pictured in order), alongside Senior Associate Javier Málaga Álvarez. The Spanish Government has proposed constitutional law professor LORENZO COTINO HUESO to the Congress of Deputies as the next president of the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos - AEPD, succeeding Mar España, who led the independent authority for nearly a decade. Additionally, the government has nominated Antonio Troncoso Reigada as the AEPD’s deputy president. Clifford Chance and the Chilean law firm Carey advised Grenergy Renovables on the sale of the first three phases of Oasis de Atacama—the world’s largest energy storage project—to ContourGlobal, a KKR company. The deal, valued at approximately USD 962 million, marks a significant milestone in Chile’s renewable energy sector. The transaction covers three of the seven phases of the Oasis de Atacama project. These phases encompass a portfolio of three solar plants with a combined installed capacity of 451 MW of solar energy and 2.5 GWh of storage capacity. PLMJ has advised Castellana Properties Socimi on the acquisition of 50% of the share capital of Alegro Sintra – Sociedade Imobiliária, the owner of the Alegro Sintra shopping center, from Tiekenveen Golding BV. Earlier this year, in September, PLMJ had already advised Castellana Properties on its entry into the Portuguese market with the acquisition of three shopping centers from Harbert European Real Estate. The PLMJ team was led by Ricardo Reigada Pereira, partner and co-coordinator of the Real Estate and Tourism practice (pictured), who oversaw the acquisition and tax structuring of the transaction.
