2024 - a year of connection and growth 🤝

We are proud to celebrate 15 years of growth and success in Egypt 🎉   Since 2009, we’ve become one the largest project and cost consultants in Egypt, with over 115 employees and a diverse portfolio of projects. We’re also the first construction consultancy to be accredited with ISO 9001:2008, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards in our service delivery.   Sherif Sweillam (BSC, MBA, PMP, MAPM), Director, shared his thoughts on this milestone “Gleeds is celebrating 15 years of success in Egypt and across Africa. This couldn’t have been achieved without the work and dedication of our talented people and our incredible clients who have made it all possible. We are proud to have delivered tailored project and cost management services in line with the highest standards and quality across a wide variety of sectors. Supporting local communities across Poland 🏙️ For the ninth year running our team in Poland have participated in the SZLACHETNA PACZKA (Noble Gift) initiative, supporting families in need this holiday season. Szlachetna Paczka is a Polish charity programme focused on ‘changing the world for good’ by connecting donors with families who need assistance. By partnering with this charity, we make a meaningful contribution to the lives of those facing challenges, ensuring their most basic needs are met. As part of our support we: ◾ Organised an organisation-wide fundraising effort, matching fundraising contributions ◾ Provided essential items such as household appliances, cleaning supplies, bedding, groceries, along with holiday gifts ◾ Allocated surplus funds to further support Szlachetna Paczka’s ongoing charitable programs. Egypt's construction industry is actively contributing to the generation of economic growth. Increasing domestic and foreign investment continues to open opportunities for development - including new cities, commercial districts and green infrastructure initiatives.     At COP29, the government reiterated its aim of achieving 42% renewable electricity by 2030, with the current share from fossil fuels at 88%. Uniting to make an impact: The Gleeds Global Challenge 🌍 This year, we set out to make a difference with the Gleeds Global Challenge, and thanks to the incredible efforts of our colleagues, we went above and beyond our ambitious targets. Together, we: ✅Travelled more than 75,000kms through exercise ✅ Completed an astounding 1,545 volunteer hours ✅ Helped our partner, ReSea Project to remove 835kgs of plastic from our oceans. But the numbers only tell part of the story. In our report, we share the real impact of this year's challenge, spotlighting the personal experiences of our colleagues and the communities we’ve supported along the way. From heartfelt stories of volunteering to the environmental impact achieved with our partner ReSea, this report celebrates the collective change we’ve made in 2024. Gleeds has been appointed to provide project and cost management services on a major new office development on High Holborn, London, which has now been officially submitted for planning approval. The team has been supporting Hoi Hup Realty Pte Ltd to deliver the site, which provides over 370,000 sq. ft. of office accommodation and terraces overlooking the capital. This exciting scheme will target BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and EPC ‘A’, and provide additional public realm through the development of a park and cultural spaces. We’re looking forward to continuing to play our part in bringing this fantastic scheme to fruition over the coming years. Improving economic conditions and gradually falling interest rates have buoyed sentiment for the UK construction industry. In our latest survey, just 16% of respondents anticipate fewer tender opportunities in 2025 than in 2024, while 38% forecast an increase. However, longstanding challenges - investor confidence, insolvencies and skills shortages - weigh on hopes of delivery. Only 12% of our 4Q 2024 survey respondents expressed confidence that pledges such as building 1.5 million homes and infrastructure projects will be delivered in the planned timescales. Additionally, insolvencies and supply chain capacity remain critical challenges. Over half of survey respondents were surprised by the collapse of ISG, and nearly six in ten expect further Tier One contractor failures within the next 12 months. The people behind the delivery of Peru's vital infrastructure 🏫🏥   Through our collaboration with Mace and Arup, as part of the UK Delivery Team (UKDT), we’re working alongside Autoridad Nacional de Infraestructura (ANIN) to deliver schools, healthcare facilities and flood defences to over five million people across Peru.     One of the most rewarding aspects of this collaboration has been to witness the very real human experiences behind the delivery of this new infrastructure. To bring this to life, and to mark the extension of our partnership through to 2026, our team shares their personal moments of pride in the progress we’ve made together so far.     As we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, we’re looking forward to sharing further stories of how the delivery of this vital infrastructure is benefitting the lives of people in some of the most remote and disadvantaged areas of Peru.  https://lnkd.in/eEN8XSFx #Peru #Infrastructure
