Climate change is not an anticipated threat that we will face in the future. It is the defining health challenge of our time, and its consequences are being felt now and cannot be ignored. As we mark #WorldClimateDay2024, we are reflecting on some of our most impactful initiatives over the last twelve months to unlock the potential of locally led health adaptation. On this day of all days, it is important to remember that only by fast-tracking flexible and accessible funding can we empower and support local communities to build resilience. But we need to go further, faster, and we need your help. It is in our power to make a difference, and we look forward to continuing our work together in 2025. #WorldClimateDay #ClimateAction #FromRiskToResilience

Not only is climate financing for locally-led health adaptation insufficient, but 90% doesn’t reach the local level 🌍 Investing in locally led adaptation strategies not only enhances resilience but also ensures that solutions are tailored to the unique challenges faced by communities. Founder of the Rise up Climate Movement and Youth for Future Africa, Vanessa Nakate, stresses the importance of understanding these impacts to find effective local solutions. Vanessa is quoted in our latest Action Report, authored by our Collective MindS Climate & Health Council, which lays out specific actions for adapting to the health impacts of climate change. #FromRiskToResilience #TimeToAdapt

We can do more, together, when it comes to the fight against childhood cancer 🤝 We are proud to support Hack4Hope , where innovators, tech enthusiasts, and healthcare professionals united to contribute to the development of solutions for the benefit of children affected by cancer. Despite advancements in medical research, childhood cancer remains a leading cause of death by disease among young patients. There is an urgent demand for innovative solutions that can enhance diagnosis, treatment, and overall care. The Hackathon is just one element of our mission to catalyze the French eco-system by accelerating innovation through cutting-edge technologies like AI and machine learning, by working together with supportive participants. The energy and creativity displayed by all was inspiring. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed their time and expertise 👏 #ChildhoodCancer #FoundationS Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster (PSCC), Sanofi, Imagine for Margo - Children without Cancer, LifeArc, INNOVATIVE THERAPIES FOR CHILDREN WITH CANCER (ITCC), Gustave Roussy, Institut Curie, Servier, Future4Care

Read the thoughts of our Director General Vanina Laurent-Ledru on the issues we must address at the intersection of climate and health and the role Health Day can play in driving tangible change at #COP29 and beyond.
This year marked the second annual Health Day at COP, recognising the urgent intersection between climate and health - with last year’s Health Day marking a major step forward in raising awareness of climate-related health issues. With #COP29 coming to a close, I have been reflecting on the issues we must address, as well as the role Health Day can play in driving tangible change at COP and beyond. #FromRiskToResilience #GlobalHealth #ClimateAction

On the second ever #HealthDay held at COP29, we are reminded of the importance of collective action to prevent lives from being lost to the climate crisis. Our latest Action Report, authored by our Collective MindS Climate & Health Council, outlines concrete steps on how to adapt to the health impacts of climate change. Hear from HE Professor Awa Marie Coll-Seck, President of the Forum Galien Afrique / Prix Galien International, on why it is critical that financial support directly reaches communities in need. #FromRiskToResilience #TimeToAdapt

At Foundation S we are deeply concerned about the health impacts of climate change, but we are not alone. We asked 5,000 global citizens how they felt about the health impacts of climate change, and the message is clear: put the climate-health nexus at the forefront of finance priorities. Read our latest action report to learn more about measures we can take to adapt to the health impacts of climate change, strengthen the resilience of healthcare systems and protect lives. #ClimateFinance #TimeToAdapt #FromRiskToResilience
