Vestiaire Collective proudly participated in the 2024 IP Enforcement Portal (IPEP) Forum, hosted by the EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office in Alicante, Spain. We joined key stakeholders—including rights holders, enforcement authorities, and e-commerce marketplaces—to discuss authentication processes and anti-counterfeiting strategies. Held every two years, the IPEP Forum is a vital platform for exchanging ideas, sharing best practices, and fostering collaboration to strengthen IP protection and combat counterfeiting across the EU. We’re excited to see the IPEP expanding to include payment providers and grateful to Benjamin Winsner, Antoine Aubert , and the EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office team for involving marketplaces in this important initiative. #IPEnforcement #AntiCounterfeiting #EUIPO #VestiaireCollective #IPEP2024 Tony Partisani

Vestiaire Collective, in collaboration with Fédération de la Mode Circulaire, we’ve launched a series of talks designed to bring together voices from across the fashion ecosystem—fostering deeper conversations that inspire change and shape the future of fashion. Our first talk, “Consuming Fashion Tomorrow: Shifting To Circularity and Conscious Behavior" featured insights from experts like Maggy Tual (Accenture), Amélie Deloche (Post Influence), Laurianne Melierre (PLUME® Rédaction), and Nicolas Debray (Climate Mind). They explored ways to influence consumer behavior and promote more responsible and circular fashion consumption. The second talk, “Regulating the Future of Fashion,” focused on the anti-fast fashion law proposal, exploring its origins and groundbreaking impact. We were honored to host Anne-Cécile Violland (MP, Horizons), Majdouline Sbaï (EU MP, EELV), and Claire Thiebault (UN Environment Programme), who emphasized the importance of making fashion regulation a central topic in public discussions. What’s next? We’re excited to start early 2025 with two new conversations: 🟢 An impactful debate on The Future of Fashion, featuring industry leaders sharing perspectives and unique insights from a brand’s point of view. 🟢 A special talk on Netflix’s latest documentary, “Buy Now: The Shopping Conspiracy,” exploring overconsumption with insights from the production team, featured cast, and The Or Foundation. Stay tuned—details on the upcoming events coming soon! This Giving Tuesday, Vestiaire Collective collaborated with not-for-profit organization The Or Foundation to list an upcycled capsule collection from Ghanaian designers on the platform. The collection was crafted from materials sourced at Kantamanto, the world’s largest secondhand clothing market, bringing a positive solution to the tons of secondhand clothing arriving in Ghana every year. The latest project of the long term collaboration between Vestiaire Collective and The Or Foundation offers our community the opportunity to shop unique pieces, and turn waste into purpose for a worthy cause. All proceeds from sales of the collection will be shared amongst the Kantamanto community through The Or Foundation’s Secondhand Solidarity Fund. Overconsumption, particularly related to fast fashion and its marketing and commercial tactics, is becoming increasingly widespread and alarming all around the world. The consequences of this phenomenon are devastating in countries like Ghana, as illustrated in Netflix’s new documentary Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy. #VestiaireCollective #ThinkFirstBuySecond #BetterBlackFriday #Circularity #Sustainability #Impact #SpeakVolumes

🌅 Breaking News: We’re Almost There! As part of our recent campaign against fast fashion, Vestiaire Collective took the initiative to join forces with the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire and 26 other organizations to send an open letter to the French Sénat asking them to resume their work on the Anti-Fast Fashion Bill. This bill which was unanimously approved by the National French Assembly in March 2024 notably plans to ban fast fashion advertising for both brands and influencers. We are thrilled to share that the French Senate answered and committed to restart discussions on the bill in early 2025. This bill represents a pivotal step in building a more sustainable fashion industry, and we are proud to have played a role in moving it forward. Over the past decade, fast fashion brands have used influencer marketing to supercharge a culture of overconsumption, pushing constant newness and low-cost trends that have fueled an unprecedented environmental crisis. But the tide is turning… Vestiaire Collective is thrilled to launch its new campaign confronting one of fast fashion’s most powerful marketing tactics: influence. Together with influencers, we’re working to reshape the narrative, harnessing their voices to champion conscious consumption, circularity, and sustainability. This campaign isn’t just about fighting overconsumption; it’s about inspiring a new mindset and empowering a generation to make mindful, lasting choices. 📱We’re teaming up with 5 influencers who’ll take their 2M+ followers on a six-month educational journey to break free from fast fashion’s grip. 📖The program include masterclasses with industry experts, an in-person experience at a landfill, and an exclusive educational video narrated by sustainable advocate Matteo Ward from WRÅD. 🔊Along with the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire and 26 of their members, Vestiaire Collective is also calling on the French Senate to resume their work on the Anti-Fast Fashion Bill, currently awaiting final review. “With this campaign, Vestiaire Collective is taking bold steps to address one of the largest drivers of fast fashion: influencers. This initiative stands as part of Vestiaire Collective’s broader mission to change the way people consume fashion and push for industry-wide reform beyond any legislative requirements. We truly believe that with the right tools, influencers can become leaders of change.” - Dounia Wone, Chief Impact Officer of Vestiaire Collective
