Exciting news! Hexoskin has been chosen to contribute its medical technologies and expertise to the future Gateway space station that will orbit the Moon in 2027! 🚀 🌕 The Canadian Space Agency | Agence spatiale canadienne has awarded a contract to Hexoskin this month to adapt the Astroskin wearable vital signs monitoring system for Gateway, a space station that will orbit the Moon. Astroskin wearable sensors monitor 5 vital signs continuously: cardiac activity (ECG), respiratory activity, temperature, blood oxygen (PPG/SpO2), and blood pressure. The convenient form factor allows astronauts to keep working on scientific experiments while participating in clinical trials in space. The Astroskin Bio-Monitor has been in operation aboard the International Space Station National Laboratory (ISS) since January 2019, when it was commissioned by Canadian astronaut David Saint-Jacques. It is currently used in four clinical trials in low Earth orbit focused on studying the cardiorespiratory system and the accelerated aging effect of microgravity on human physiology.
