Well that's a very open ended question. First, I will start by understanding the concerns of stake holder. Mostly the concerns pertaining to automation are intangible especially when the productions are up to the mark. Letting out these concerns eases up the process of acceptability. Secondly presently the case with realistic facts and figures. Mostly automation guys struggle over here. Team up with reliability or process colleagues. They can further strengthen the case with facts and figures. Thirdly Always keep a long term plan (05 year capex plan) . Keep your stakeholders apprise with those plans. It boasts stakeholder confidence in the planning of automation team. Last but not the least, improve communication skills.
