𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐀 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝: 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥 & 𝐃𝐢𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠   The comprehensive Market and #TechnologyReport from the first phase of the FERA project has been released, coordinated by Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA with contributions from Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnológicas, SENAI - Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Industrial Innovation Institute for Laser Processing, Fraunhofer IPK, and 26 companies within Brazil's #automotive value chain. This pivotal study assesses the current utilization of #AdditiveManufacturing (AM) by Brazilian and German companies in the #Tool & Die Making sector and explores future business models leveraging AM technologies.   The study, executed by Fraunhofer IPK with support from VDWF - Verband Deutscher Werkzeug- und Formenbauer e.V., ABINFER - Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Ferramentais , and ITA, reveals critical insights into potential applications, cost drivers, and industrial challenges in adopting AM technologies from the perspectives of both countries.   As the initial phase concluded successfully in December 2023, the FERA project is set to enter its second phase. Six RTOs and 29 companies will continue their efforts to industrialize additive manufacturing further, aiming to boost productivity and develop new feedstocks utilizing Brazil's rich raw material resources.
