Celebrating Young Athletes in Eswatini! As we close out 2024, we are thrilled to celebrate two talented young athletes from the Manzini region of Eswatini, who proudly secured a bronze and a silver medal at the Nationals. These athletes along with seven others from the Manzini region competed against athletes from the Hhohho, Shiselweni, and Lubombo regions, all striving for the coveted gold medal. Their journey began in November during the Schools Athletics Talent Search Tournament organised by the Eswatini Sports Council and culminated in a fierce competition at the national level. Our Grindrod team, along with the local community, united to support these remarkable athletes. Out of 31 impressive competitors, nine exceptional learners emerged victorious and represented the Manzini region at the Nationals. We provided transportation for these champions and offered refreshments, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to uplifting local communities. Congratulations to Reshmee Soni on her promotion to Executive: Investor Relations, Mergers and Acquisitions effective 1 January 2025. Reshmee, a qualified CA (SA), has been with Grindrod for over a decade. She was responsible for group financial reporting, and contributed remarkably to shaping Grindrod’s current operating model, focusing on its core business. Her experience in strategy formulation, investor relations and key transactions puts her in good stead to formulate and position a well-crafted investment value proposition to Grindrod’s existing and potential investor communities and key stakeholders. Exciting News from Grindrod's Navitrade Terminal! We are pleased to announce that Grindrod’s Navitrade terminal in Richards Bay achieved a significant milestone, 2.0 million tonnes of coal throughput in 2024. The collective efforts of the Transnet Port Terminals and Grindrod teams working with our local partner Eyamakhosi have been instrumental in breaking the previous records and positioning the terminal for continued success. Grindrod Maputo Car Terminal, located at the Port of Maputo, is ideally positioned for importing and exporting vehicle units as well as high and heavy cargo intended for South Africa and the Sub-Saharan African new and used vehicle markets.
