As part of this project, we will provide flight calibration services for critical navigation and landing systems, including Radar, DVOR, DME, ILS, PAPI, and Runway AGL checks. Exciting News: The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has awarded Fusion Q Technology the VHF Direction Finder System (VDF) Project. 📍 Doha, Qatar – November 14th, 2024—Fusion Q Technology is excited to announce the prestigious VHF Direction Finder system (VDF) Project award by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA)—another milestone in support of our efforts to push boundaries with innovative solutions in Qatar constantly. Through this project, Fusion Q Technology will deliver cutting-edge direction finder technology from Rohde & Schwarz, the industry leader striving for a safer and connected world. This cutting-edge technology, developed by Rohde & Schwarz, ensures comprehensive coverage in the Qatar airspace by automatically identifying and pinpointing calling aircraft on the air traffic controller’s radar screen. The benefits are intuitive call sign identification on the screen, avoidance of confusion, increased situational awareness and improved user experience and confidence. The deployment will include a CERTIUM Locate system with 3 direction finder antennas strategically placed across the country for optimal functionality. The redundant CERTIUM Locate servers calculate the exact position of the calling aircraft in almost real-time and seamlessly provide it via the Asterix interface to the radar screen, significantly improving the air traffic controllers’ work efficiency and enhancing the overall safety of the Qatar skies. This major initiative will be implemented at Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Doha International Airport (DIA), significantly enhancing Qatar's air traffic management capabilities. Being at the forefront of delivering fully integrated solutions for complex systems in airports, aviation, and security, Fusion Q Technology is ecstatic to collaborate with Honeywell, an integrated operating company serving a broad range of industries and geographies around the world, to deliver unmatched solutions and services to our esteemed customer. The project will be delivered in two phases: • Phase 1: Replace the existing operational and test bed ASMGCS at HIA with similar functionalities, including operational levels (like-to-like replacement of the HIA operational system). • Phase 2: Upgrade of Phase One delivered HIA ASMGCS to an ICWP level 5 system along with deployment of DIA ICWP system level 5.
