Nothing is more important than family, and that certainly rings true for everyone at The Redwoods in #Ottawa. For over 10 years, the daughter of one of our residents has invited us to her beautiful heritage home. Unfortunately, her mother passed away last year at 101 years old. However, we were honoured to visit her once again at her home, reminisce about old times, and enjoy time with someone we care about deeply. With the holiday season upon us and as 2024 comes to a close, this is a time to reflect on our accomplishments, successes, and learnings throughout the year. Thanks to our incredible Horizon and Spring Living team members, we now serve over 2,800 residents with a range of high-quality, personalized services, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, across 21 retirement communities in the Greater Montreal Area and urban markets in Ontario. Over the past year, we successfully acquired seven high-quality retirement communities (1,232 suites) and the Horizon Résidences pour Aînés management company in Montreal, and we are establishing a strong Horizon brand for our Quebec portfolio. We invested in significant capital improvements, completing beautiful renovations for residents, family, and team members to enjoy in seven of our retirement residences. We ended the year with an occupancy of 97% in our stabilized portfolio, with several of our residences receiving Readers' Choice Awards. We were also pleased to achieve high levels of resident satisfaction (85%) and employee engagement (83%). Thank you to all the residents who have chosen a Horizon or Spring Living community as their home—it is our honour to serve you. Thank you also to our investors, suppliers, and partners for your support, and to our diverse and dedicated team of over 1,000 members who make a positive impact on our residents, the communities we serve, and our success every day.
