About us

Established in 2019, and based out of 312 Main Street in Vancouver, SFU’s Community Engaged Research Initiative (CERi) is a centre that builds capacity for community-engaged research, locally, nationally and beyond. We offer training, convening, research services, collaborative research approaches, creative knowledge mobilization strategies and collaborative research projects to support the interests of community groups and organizations. Mental health, the drug poisoning crisis, youth services, climate justice, and democratic participation are just some of the issues we have worked on recently. Our approach to research is based on principles of democratic participation, mutual respect, equity, justice and collaboration with our community research partners and other stakeholders.
