"[The old test took] *up to an hour* sometimes because I had to start over. You’re hunched over, your back aches, your neck hurts, you sweat, you’re nervous, it’s unpleasant but necessary. Using this new wireless equipment, I was able to sit in a comfy chair relax, breathe normally and was *done in 10 minutes* with zero false positives. " That's the difference we make at RetinaLogik. We so appreciate your post Mary Beth Suriano and that we could make the testing process more enjoyable! Medical equipment doesn't always have to be uncomfortable. Have you seen RetinaLogik at your local optometrist yet? If not, tell them to check out our Canadian company, so we can start improving patient experience for their clinic too: https://lnkd.in/gVVcuxWN #healthinnovation #vrvf #visualfields #optometry #ophthalmology #Optometry #EyeCare #VisionHealth #EyeHealth #EyeExam #Optometrist #HealthyVision #Eyewear #EyeHealthMatters #OpticalCare #VisionCare #EyecareProfessionals #OpticalHealth #EyeWellness #VisionScreening #OptometricCare #EyeHealthTips RetinaLogik
Virtual Reality and AI Win! We sometimes worry on what new tech will take AWAY from us, and not on what it will BRING to us. I had a good experience last week with a VR-powered eye exam that I want to share and give credit to RetinaLogik https://lnkd.in/equgKpEM, the company that holds the future of vision screening through AI/VR. Last week I went for my annual Field Vision Test and was surprised to learn that the 80s built machine of a circular dome was replaced with my son’s Occulus. Ok, it wasn’t his Occulus but it kind of was. It’s called RetinaLogik but it is similar to his VR Occulus. With the old test you place your chin in this machine and stare at a white space clicking a button every time you see a tiny white dot to measure your field of vision. It takes several minutes per eye, then you do both eyes together. If you have too many false negatives or if the technician notices your eyes were wandering too much you have to start all over again. My test has taken up to an hour sometimes because I had to start over. You’re hunched over, your back aches, your neck hurts, you sweat, you’re nervous, it’s unpleasant but necessary. Using this new wireless equipment, I was able to sit in a comfy chair relax, breathe normally and was done in 10 minutes with zero false positives. The RetinaLogik test provides the same information but if I move my eyes or neck, the internal camera follows my retina so there’s no need for a technician to physically watch me. This machine won’t cure Retinitis Pigmentosa, but thanks to VR technology it will improve accuracy of its progression. This is a huge leap in medical technology…invented by someone who probably was told they spend too much time playing video games. I say, let them play. Through play great discoveries can be made. From the bottom of my heart thank you Julia St.Amand to you and your team for this. This is truly amazing and I’m grateful I’m one of the first few in Canada to have experienced this.
