About us
The Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada was formed to represent contractors in labour relations matters and to establish training courses for the development of Canadian workers in special pipeline construction skills. Over the years the scope of the Association has broadened to include occupational health and safety, legislative review, pipeline standards and codes and a host of other activities. The PLCAC does NOT recruit for frontline pipeline professionals. The companies who are Regular Members of PLCAC work with four international building trade unions. The building trade unions work with the Regular Member companies to staff requirements for craft skills and trades, including unionized pipe trades, welders, heavy equipment operators, transport operators, and associated skilled craft labour.

Somerville Hosts Women Building Futures Trades Cohort Somerville was proud to host a Journey to Trades cohort of incredible women from Women Building Futures! The day was packed with inspiration, education, and hands-on experiences: •Presentations by our team regarding the infrastructure construction industry - from information on career opportunities within each specific division at Somerville, to trades-related career pathways via the appropriate Unions to tips for finding work-life balance in this dynamic field. •A behind-the-scenes tour of Somerville’s shop and yard, giving participants an up-close look at the tools, processes, and innovation that power our projects. The energy, curiosity, and drive these women brought to the session were contagious. Thank you to Carlos Vieira for leading the tour of the shop and yard with assistance from Kennedy McCann and Anthony Pappano. Pipe Line Contractors Association of Canada (PLCAC) reposted this
This past month, we had the pleasure of delivering another insightful #trainingcourse in collaboration with The University of British Columbia’s Pipeline Integrity Institute. Building on the momentum of our Hydrogen Pipeline Integrity course earlier this year, we hosted a two-day session in #Calgary: Pipeline Defect Assessment & Threat Interaction in Pipeline Integrity Management. Led by experts Chris Holliday and Christopher Curtis, the training took a deep dive into critical standards and best practices for managing #pipelineintegrity, equipping participants with the knowledge to tackle real-world challenges. The enthusiasm and engagement from attendees reinforced the importance of bringing expert-led training like this to the forefront of our industry. A huge thank you to Shannon Remillong, Michelle Unger, Laura Kathryn Gay and Nicole Armstrong for their collaboration and effort in making this course a success. We’re proud to continue empowering professionals with the knowledge and skills to ensure safer, more #sustainable pipeline operations. Stay tuned for future courses and events as we continue advancing industry excellence. Visit the ROSEN website for details on upcoming training opportunities. https://lnkd.in/dNspCZxW.. #PipelineIntegrityTraining #ProfessionalDevelopment #CompetenceClub #EmpoweredbyTechnology
