Giving surgeons clarity on margins to act in the moment and close with confidence.
About us
Perimeter Medical Imaging AI is a pioneering medical technology company driven to transform cancer surgery with advanced imaging tools. We can’t imagine how frustrating it is for surgeons to do everything they can and still have to make the “dreaded call” to the patient. That’s why we developed our OCT technology that provides 10x the resolution of X-ray and ultrasound at 2mm imaging depth for real-time insight, so surgeons can act in the moment with greater certainty. A Toronto-based company established in 2013, with U.S. headquarters in Dallas, Texas, Perimeter seeks to harness the power of big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning technology to further our mission of improving the standard of care, providing better long-term outcomes for patients, and reducing healthcare costs.

#ICYMI we’re sharing coverage in Healio of an important retrospective study published earlier this year about the high instances of follow-up surgeries performed after initial breast-conserving surgeries. Investigators at the The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) analyzed data on more than 24,000 women with #breastcancer and found that more than 1 in 5 commercially insured women and 1 in 7 Medicare beneficiaries underwent repeat surgeries within a year, leading to increased risk of health complications and considerably higher costs of care. https://lnkd.in/gBA7FP_E #healthcare #medtech
Study reveals ‘quite high’ re-excision rates after initial breast-conserving surgery

Did you know that Optical Coherence Tomography, or OCT, can be used in the operating room to help surgeons visualize the margins of excised tissue? OCT is similar to ultrasound, but instead uses light waves instead of sound, resulting in much higher resolution imaging of suspicious tissue. OCT has been used widely in the ophthalmology, cardiology and dermatology fields for over 20 years. Discover how OCT offers detailed and dynamic imaging at https://lnkd.in/emKeZg9e #medtech #imaging

We are thrilled to share positive topline results from our pivotal clinical trial evaluating the Perimeter B-Series OCT system, combining #artificialintelligence technology with optical coherence tomography (OCT), for use in breast-conserving surgeries (BCS). https://bit.ly/3OiG6is • B-Series super-superiority based on predefined clinical and statistical significance parameters • Primary endpoint met indicating a statistically significant reduction in patients with residual cancer during surgery (p-value = 0.0050) • Intraoperative margin assessment during BCS using Perimeter B-Series OCT with ImgAssist AI 2.0 enabled surgeons to more effectively address residual cancer at the surgical margin as compared to current standard methods • FDA PMA application for B-Series OCT system with ImgAssist AI expected to be submitted in early 2025 This is a significant milestone, and we sincerely thank the Perimeter Medical Imaging AI team, clinical trial investigators, and most importantly, the patients who helped us get here. $PINK.V $PYNKF #medtech #AI #AIinhealthcare
