As part of PCL Ottawa’s continued work with the Indigenous-owned Mādahòkì Farm, team members had the rare (and adorable) opportunity to work with the farm’s famous Ojibwe Spirit Horses—Canada’s only known Indigenous horse breed. Through the farm’s Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) Program, our team spent three hours learning groundwork with the horses. These incredible horses are not only ambassadors for their once-endangered breed but also teach youth and adults essential skills like self-confidence through lessons rooted in Indigenous teachings. We’re proud to support Mādahòkì Farm and their mission to empower the Indigenous community and share these important educational programs.
