Humbled and Honored: 1922 Cannabis & Delivery in the Spotlight
Out of over 1,500 cannabis stores in Ontario, it was a true privilege to host David Lobo, President and CEO of the OCS Ontario Cannabis Store, Gary Crawford, new OCS Board Member, and Alexandre Jalleau, Chief Customer Experience Officer, at our store this week.
What made this visit so impactful was the opportunity to share how we’ve adapted and evolved as a small, independent operator, particularly in the delivery space. We discussed hitting milestones like 10,000 Uber Eats orders, highlighting how this innovation has made cannabis more accessible for customers while ensuring we stay competitive. Their interest reinforced the importance of independent operators in shaping the future of cannabis.
A key focus of this visit was the perspective Gary Crawford brings as the newest OCS Board Member. Gary brings a wealth of experience from his long-standing career in the Ontario government. He is well-positioned to help prioritize regulatory changes in the Cannabis Act, addressing illicit storefronts and mail-order operations. His ability to bridge policy with operational realities will help create a more sustainable and competitive legal market for small businesses like ours and others across the province.
For Brooke Silversides and I, this visit was a reminder that our work speaks for itself. Through consistent service, customer feedback, and results, we’re proud to contribute to these industry conversations. Visits like this showcase the vital role independent operators play in driving innovation and pave the way for broader collaboration to move the industry forward.
Thank you, David, Gary, Alexandre, and the OCS team, for taking the time to visit and support the work we’re doing.
