This past week, Hyundai Canada had the pleasure of joining Google at #ThinkAuto2024. Our very own Director or Marketing, Christine Smith, CM, took the stage with her trusted agency partner, Spiro Paravantes, SVP of Media Operations at INNOCEAN Canada. Christine spoke to a room of marketing and digital experience professionals from across the Canadian automotive industry. As a leader who has been crucial in transforming Hyundai's brand name in Canada, she shared keys to success, the value of strong partnership with our agency-of-record, and the importance of evolving the brand in an ever-changing industry. Christine leads our Marketing Team with a fail-safe culture, creating space for experimentation and innovation. Thank you Google for hosting us, and thank you Christine for setting the tone for strong leadership in the industry. 🎉🎈

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and it is an opportunity to acknowledge the importance of ensuring accessibility in workplaces and the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the Canadian workforce. This month we had the honour of welcoming back Darcy Irwin to Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. speak with our team members on a broad spectrum of cognitive variations, with the goal of fostering a deeper understanding and inclusion of neurodivergent individuals in the workplace. In addition to bringing more awareness on the topic of neurodiversity in the workplace, this presentation had special meaning as all proceeds from the training went to support the Canadian Down Syndrome Swim Association. Learning and awareness is important, but it is what you do with your learnings that can drive real change. Thank you, Darcy for being a leader for change.
I am thrilled to be delivering a presentation on "Fostering Neurodiversity in the Workplace" for Hyundai Canada next week. Having collaborated with Hyundai in the past, I continue to be impressed by their commitment to inclusive leadership across all dimensions of diversity. In addition, all proceeds from this presentation will support the Canadian Down Syndrome Swim Association (CDSSA) as they prepare for the USADSS & AWL 2024 Open National Championships in Florida next month. If you'd like to learn more about this training or are interested in supporting the CDSSA, please don't hesitate to get in touch. #Neurodiversity #Hyundai #Downsyndrome #Inclusion #CDSSA Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. Last week, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. Canada had the honor of participating as a title sponsor at the 2024 Empowering Auto Conference. Alongside our 20 team members in attendance, we were also proud to support Peter Assenza, our National Manager of Marketing, during his insightful panel discussion on "Sponsorship in the Workplace." Peter shared insightful and actionable advice of how to be a sponsor at work while keeping us laughing with his personal stories and reflections. For the past two years, we have been privileged to serve as a title partner, committed to attracting, retaining, and inspiring women to pursue careers in the automotive industry. The Empowering Auto Conference not only connects professionals from across the sector but also invites students to explore career opportunities and expand their networks. It was truly an inspiring and impactful day.

A heartfelt thank you to Mike Downie for taking us on the life-changing story of Chanie Wenjack, which marked the start of the journey of reconciliation for him and his brother, the late Gord Downie. Chanie Wenjack was a 12-year-old Ojibway boy who died alone in the cold while running away from his residential school; his story then became the multi-media project called “Secret Path” and has captured the hearts and minds of Canadians across the country. We will be donating $10,000 to the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund to support building cultural understanding and create a path toward reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
