About us

The Canadian Prairies Chapter was formed in 2018 and supports the Prairie provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. We are one of the three chapters in Canada and one of the 58 chapters globally. Our Purpose As a chapter of HIMSS, we focus on providing leadership in healthcare for the management of systems, technology and information. Specifically, we support: -Planning and scheduling meetings to provide Chapter members and other interested persons an opportunity to share ideas and exchange experiences in the field of healthcare information and management systems -Assisting Chapter members and others in developing their knowledge, increasing their effectiveness, and maintaining high quality standards or performance through continuing education -Planning and conducting training and educational programs designed to promote and understanding of information and management systems work in healthcare -Developing and maintaining appropriate relationships with other local and national associations and societies concerned with the improvement of information and management systems
