We are thrilled to announce that Birgitte Booij is returning to SpinChip as our new Chief Scientific Officer. Birgitte brings over 20 years of leadership experience in commercial diagnostics development, and unique insights from the global health setting. In other words, her expertise is highly relevant as we make our way towards commercialisation. Being no stranger to SpinChip, Birgitte contributed to our growth and success from 2014 to 2021. During her previous tenure, she initially led the development of the hs-TnI assay and spearheaded our business development efforts. Her understanding of our company and the diagnostic field makes her the perfect fit to guide us through this next phase of innovation and growth. With Birgitte back at SpinChip, it will further support a smooth transition as Stig Morten Borch, our founder and previous CSO, continues to step down into well-deserved retirement. "Rejoining SpinChip feels like coming home. I am excited to work with the growing and talented team here once again and to contribute to the next chapter of SpinChip's journey," says Birgitte. Birgitte Booij holds a Ph.D. in biotechnology from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Science in biochemistry from the University of Groningen, and innovation management training from BI Norwegian Business School.

SpinChip Diagnostics is a medical device company that is developing a game changing and proprietary platform for in vitro diagnostics point of care analyses. The platform will make it possible to perform a broader range of analyses using one platform and to transfer analyses from central laboratories to point of care without loss in quality. All analyses are performed within a few minutes based on a fraction of a droplet of blood and at a unit cost significantly lower than other point of care platforms.

We are excited to share that the positive results from the APACE study have been published in the esteemed peer-reviewed journal in cardiovascular medicine, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC). Overall, the study evaluating the clinical and analytical performance of SpinChip’s novel high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI)-SPINCHIP POC assay found that the test demonstrated performance on par with the best-validated central laboratory-based assays.
