For air lubrication to deliver real benefits, it must be designed correctly and operated optimally. Air Lubrication Systems (ALS) can reduce water friction for ships of all sizes. However, designing the system correctly is important. This includes sizing compressors correctly, optimizing nozzle placement, and ensuring the system can adapt to various operating conditions. The control system must dynamically adjust compressor speed and manage nozzle activation to accommodate variations in speed, trim, draft, and weather conditions.
