Our state-of-the-art airbag deployment facility features cutting-edge technology to ensure top-tier safety testing. Here is how manufactures can witness their product’s capabilities: ● With four ignition channels, it offers unparalleled precision in simulating various impact scenarios ● Supports high-speed photography (HSP) at 5000 frames per second from three distinct angles, capturing detailed deployment data ● It accommodates vehicles up to 5.3 meters in length, making it versatile for different sizes ● Operates efficiently across a broad temperature range, from -40°C to 110°C, ensuring reliable performance in extreme conditions This will help manufactures achieve faster yet accurate results with: ● Controlled environment allowing for precise control of temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors, which is essential for accurate testing of Airbag system under various conditions ● Faster testing and evaluation cycles, cutting down product development timeframe ● Minimizes need for outdoor or on-road testing ● Evaluates airbag design and performance with walk-in chambers that can be customized to meet specific industry requirements Airbag testing facility plays a critical role in ensuring airbags function correctly and gives a scope to manufacturers and researchers understand the product’s competences for further enhancement; ultimately contributing to reduced injuries and fatalities on the road. We are proud to share that ARAI has received ‘Committee of the Year’ award on 78th Foundation Day of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as the Chair of the Committee. The award was presented by Pralhad Joshi, Hon'ble Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Minister of New and Renewable Energy to Dr. S.S. Thipse, Senior Deputy Director- ARAI, in the presence of Smt. Nidhi Khare, Secretary of Consumer Affairs, and Shri Pramod Kumar Tiwari, DG, BIS.   The Sectional Committee on Automotive Vehicles Running on Non-Conventional Energy Sources (TED 26) committee chaired by ARAI was felicitated for its contribution in developing alternative fuel component standards including those for Green Hydrogen.   This achievement reflects India’s commitment towards green mobility and we thank BIS for the recognition.

Porsche India, a division of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited, for successfully obtaining the CMVR Type Approval Certificate for their upcoming BEV range of the new vehicle series, Macan, including the Macan Electric, Macan 4S Electric, and Macan Turbo Electric. ARAI proudly presented Digital Twin Summit 2024: Shaping the NextGen Mobility on 13th December 2024. Vijay Pankhawala Sr. Deputy Director- ARAI welcomed the gathering and apprised them of ARAI’s initiative to provide a platform for industry professionals to discuss the latest advancements in Digital Twin applications, focusing on how it supports automotive innovation, from electric vehicles (EVs) to autonomous systems. Dr. Reji Mathai Director-ARAI expressed his privilege to host such event which aims to reach the goal of sensitizing industry about the power of Digital Twin, faster. ARAI being the primary research unit of the country in the automotive sector, it becomes imperative for the Association to be ready for the ‘next’ that is to come in the automotive technology space. He emphasised on how ARAI equipped itself to meet the needs of EV for the industry way back in 2013-14 and similarly for Digital Twin in 2021-22. With the Government’s support, Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) successfully established state-of-the-art infrastructure to meet the requirements of Digital Twin Engineering. The cutting-edge technology, with proper nurturing can result as a robust solution, in economic way. He concluded with ARAI being the enabler for technology deployment is ready to support developers in development-phase of the product and urged the stakeholders to come together and work towards India’s vision of AMRIT KAAL.
