A New Year Incident That Reflects Our Values On 1st January 2025, at the stroke of midnight, I received a WhatsApp message about a plumbing requirement. Despite it being the holiday season, we arranged for our service partner, Mr. Ankur, who had just resumed work after a brief break, to attend to the client on 02/01/2025. When he reached the client’s place, he found another professional already working there. The client requested him to work alongside the other professional. Respecting the dignity of all professionals, we decided to take a hard call. We paused the work, informed the client politely, and asked our service partner to return. Though it meant we couldn’t raise a bill at the start of the New Year, our values guided us. For us, entrepreneurship isn’t just about making money; it’s about bringing positive change and improving lives. The Bigger Picture This incident reflects the unpredictability of our profession and the tough decisions startups face every day. But it also reaffirms why we do what we do: 1) To keep our clients happy 2) To ensure the dignity and happiness of our blue-collar workforce That’s how we grow. That’s how a startup grows.
