🌍IVCA Green Returns Summit 2024🌍 As an ecosystem partner, we are thrilled to share the key highlights from the IVCA Green Returns Summit 2024, hosted last week in New Delhi.  Glad we could play a role in making this a carbon neutral event. Bringing together visionaries, investors, policymakers, startups and entrepreneurs across India to chart a transformative path for India's green economy. As the name suggests, Green Returns was about creating Climate Impact with ROIs on Capital, making it an attractive domain for sustainable and consistent investments over the next few decades fueling the clean transition needed. Key Highlights: Transformative Dialogue: The summit facilitated strategic discussions on aligning India's climate goals with green growth scaling its 4 trillion-dollar economy for a 'Viksit Bharat' Leadership in Climate Finance: Chaired by Jayant Sinha, former Minister of State for Finance, the summit emphasized innovative financing models and blended finance mechanisms to address funding gaps. Green Pop-Up Village: A centerpiece of the event featuring cleantech startups showcasing innovative, climate-sensitive technologies that are paving the way for sustainable practices. Investments Opportunities are immense however the role of all stakeholders especially that of corporates to enable the transition is a key for scaling. With newer technologies it’s a nuanced play with risks not only with respect to business but also the technology risks, these have to be factored into the Returns Portfolio. Emphasis on the importance of Transition Finance for the hard to abate sectors. Mahua Acharya emphasised the need for creativity in building differentiated investments and the need for creating regulatory structure around these investments. Blended finance to play an integral role for building capacities, syncing philanthropic capital with private capital for building scale.
