Funkcija
[uredi | uredi izvor]FGF2 (MIM 134920) je visoko konzervirani, multifunkcijski faktor rasta koji se vezuje za heparin uključen u razvoj neuroektoderme, angiogenezu i zarastanje rana.
Povišeni nivoi FGF2 povezani su sa proliferacijom ćelija glatkih mišića u aterosklerozi i sa proliferacijom tumora. FGF2 antisensni gen, NUDT6, može regulirati ekspresiju gene FGF2 (preme OMIM-u.)[7]
