Confession time: I wasn't a reader (or so I thought) For as long as I can remember, I've identified as someone who just doesn't read. No cozy nights or warm beaches with a book.  But here's the thing: I always wanted to be a reader. Then came audiobooks! (Yes, I know, I'm way behind the curve ). The past few months have been a revelation. I'm devouring books like never before, with a queue building up faster than I can listen. This experience made me realize something important: identity is more fluid than we think. I had this fixed idea of myself as a non-reader, but that's just not true anymore. It turns out, I'm an information sponge – just in a different format than I expected. This shift has me curious: what other aspects of my identity are ripe for an update? How about you? I believe that most potential clients mean well. They're trying to maximize their budgets, just like the rest of us. But sometimes they have no idea what they're talking about. Case in point: a 10 hour audiobook does not take 10 hours to produce. When a client asks why I charge so much for audiobooks I invite them to listen to samples of my previous work, and educate them about how many hours go into each finished hour. #voiceover #audiobooks #voiceartist
