🤗 Didn't win, but participated in the MEXA's first virtual Hackathon: Mental Health & AI: Measurement! 🧐 This 3-day #hackathon gave me the opportunity to realize what seemed impossible in 2020 (Ref: 2020 Vision) is now possible in 2024 (Ref: 2024 Vision), thanks to advancements in Google's AI technologies (Google AI Studio + Gemini 1.5 Flash developed by Google DeepMind) and techniques such as RAG and fine-tuning. 🧠 My team, "Power of Sleep for Mind" with Shirin Taghian and Alind Jain focused on the proactive prevention of mental health illness and aimed to address questions: Q1: How can #GenerativeAI help measure the holistic #wellbeing of individuals (i.e. four dimensions of wellbeing) to effectively evaluate the impact of factors such as sleep deprivation and burnout on mental health, and consequently, the effects of mental illness on performance? Q2: How can we develop a Generative AI-powered solution that enables individuals to monitor, maintain, and improve their mental health by providing scientific, data-driven knowledge and insights that inspire actionable change? 🙌 We were amazed by #Gemini's capabilities, including defining a wellbeing framework and metrics for the four dimensions of wellbeing, generating synthetic data for specific personas, and generating Python code based on the prompts we provided. 🔮 To truly understand the power of artificial intelligence (#AI), we must explore and experience it ourselves rather than just reading about it. There were several moments when I felt a sense of magic as Gemini generated responses to our prompts. 🙏 Thank you to Google, Google DeepMind, Neuromatch (cc: Courtney Dean), Wellcome Trust for making this hackathon available and support. 🖼 Project Gallery: https://lnkd.in/gr7v2zif . . 👥 MEXA is a global online community where people with diverse skills and backgrounds (researchers, scientists, developers, healthcare workers, lived experienced experts, and community members) collaborate on research at the intersection of mental health and artificial intelligence (AI). #Mexa #MentalHealth #ArtificialIntelligence #Measurement
