Thrilled to have mentored at the Philtech Mental Health Hackathon, where we innovated at the intersection of technology and mental health. I supported projects 𝐉𝐐𝐘 and 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞 aimed at empowering teens in distress and enhancing counselors' abilities to address concerns more effectively, broadening the reach and imagining and fostering a brighter future for these young individuals. I had the unique opportunity to guide teams through the maze of technical possibilities and product decisions—clarifying what's feasible, advising on in-house development vs. off-the-shelf solutions, and leveraging proprietary data to fulfil the mission. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 💡one team's breakthrough with a #ChatGPT-powered prototype, 'My GPT,' that helps imagining a brighter future to a teen in distress. Huge thanks to the Philtech team—David Tabacman, Gina Walker, Shelly Tene Barkai and Sensor foundation —for making this possible, to Liron David 🎗️ and Yotam Comam for their visionary mental health leadership, and to our incredible non-profits who boldly embrace technology to amplify their mission. Together, we're showcasing how #AI and data can drive social good. Our experiences at the hackathon underscore a powerful truth: with tech, data, #AI, and recently with #GenAI, we're not just imagining a future where technology amplifies social good—we're actively building it. Let's keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible! #DataForGood #AIforGood

The application of psychological science to improve technology has a long and impressive history. But, the work is often behind-the-scenes. Psychologists may not be creating the technology, but they are helping make the technology work for humans, not against humans. I'm delighted to host this panel of leading experts later today at American Psychological Association's 2024 Convention to explore issues ranging from AI, to robots, to social media, to office work. I'll be joined by experts, Tara Behrend, Don Grant, Ph.D., MA, MFA, SUDCC IV, DAC, David Evans, and Ericka Rovira. #psychology #futureofwork #technology #apa2024

We are excited to announce the Artificiality Summit 2025! On October 23-25, we will host our second annual Summit in Bend, Oregon. We are moving to a new venue and adding another full day of programming. We are increasing capacity but keeping it small enough to maintain the intimate nature which was so popular in 2024. For those who didn't make it in 2024, here are some of the reactions we received: - "Thank you, Helen Edwards and Dave Edwards for the engaging, diverse group you have put together. This is not your everyday conference, and especially not the everyday AI conference." Don Norman - “I will remember the Artificiality Summit, well…forever. It was more intellectually compelling than anything I can remember participating in.” John Pasmore - “The Artificiality Summit struck the perfect balance of rigor and playfulness, formality and informality. It was a dazzling event and a impeccably curated roster of speakers.” Jamer Hunt - "Still glowing from the conference, so much intelligence, but also kindness, safety and warmth. A humane and vital discussion of technology as a part of humanity and humanity as part of something much bigger." Whit Morriss - "From the beginning to end, it was a perfectly curated weekend of building connections, sharing ideas and having genuine conversations across science, design, art and the innovations that are expanding our future and imagining what can be next in AI." Abigail Snodgrass - "That was one of the best tech experiences I have ever had. I have been to all sorts of screwball conferences and big-name experiences. I even built a few. But yours was something different. It was intimate, humble, and curious. A little feisty, a little nervous, but completely authentic. On Sunday afternoon, I looked around and thought, 'THIS is my tribe.'"
