Congratulations to Kari Babski-Reeves on her recent appointment to Associate Vice President for Research for University of Tennessee System, a statewide system of higher #education with campuses in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Pulaski, Martin, and Memphis; the UT Institute of #Agriculture with a presence in every Tennessee county; and the statewide Institute for Public Service. This announcement follows a national search led by Martin Baker and Chelsie Whitelock, CDR Whitelock.  Babski-Reeves currently serves as Associate Dean at the Bagley College of Engineering at Mississippi State University where she leads #research, graduate, and distance programs. Under her leadership, the college significantly increased research expenditures and introduced initiatives to enhance #grant writing, collaborative research, distance education, and strategic partnerships. She earned her #doctorate, master’s, and bachelor’s degrees in industrial engineering from Mississippi State University. She joined the Mississippi State University faculty in 2006 after serving on the faculty at Virginia Tech. In her new role, Babski-Reeves will provide strategic leadership to advance the UT System’s research agenda, facilitating efforts across the University’s campuses and institutes to develop and enhance research capacity and productivity. Congratulations to Marty Favret on recently being named the new Director of Athletics and Club Sports at Lees-McRae College following a national search led by Ken Carrick, Martin Baker, and Janny DeLoache. For the past 24 years, Favret has served as the head football coach and associate #athletic director at Hampden-Sydney College, where he guided the Tigers to six #NCAA Division III Playoff appearances, five #ODAC Championships, the most ODAC wins in school history, 16 winning seasons, and 19 seasons at .500 or better. He has been recognized as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference #Coach of the Year five times at H-SC (2003, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013) and oversaw 26 All-America selections, four College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® selections, one William V. Campbell Trophy® finalist, and 117 First All-ODAC selections. Favret graduated from the Catholic University of America in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
