Last week, the #Milan pilot’s partners participated at the #Future4Cities Festival to showcase participatory and co-design processes during a workshop session dedicated to climate actions. 🏙 The session posed critical questions: -What actions should be taken to fight and respond to climate change? -What principles should we adopt to design and implement them effectively and sustainably?’ To address these questions, Stefano Boeri Architetti (SBA) and LAND presented HeritACT as a case study of participatory design actions happening in Ballina (IR), Eleusis (GR) and Milan (IT). They emphasised the importance of co-creating innovative, replicable, scalable, and inclusive solutions that empower #placemaking. This approach develops a sense of ownership among the community while positioning urban biodiversity as the heritage of the future. HeritACT’s co-design process of such interventions includes: 🟡 Methodology: the co-creation of a roadmap that analyzes the context based on four key dimensions (stakeholders, activities, sites characteristics and legal framework). This Roadmap also establishes a clear timeline for actions and activities. 🟡 Activities: the development of a participatory process unfolded in four phases: 1) Defining a shared vision, 2) Translating the vision into tangible assets through co-designed interventions, 3) Implementing the solutions and 4) Animating the spaces with events and activities to sustain engagement.
