🌱 Europe’s air quality has improved but still doesn’t meet WHO guidelines

Air quality in Europe has improved over the last 20 years, according to new research. Despite this, most of Europe’s population still lives in areas that exceed the World Health Organization's recommended levels. A team, led by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) estimated daily pollution levels in more than 1,400 regions across 35 European countries - an area with around 543 million people - between 2003 and 2019. 🌱 Waste reduction during Ramadan: How businesses can make a difference

As Ramadan commences, there's a noticeable increase in waste generation including food, plastic, water, electronics, and textiles. More food consumption during iftar and social gatherings, excessive food purchases, and poor leftover management result in more food waste. For example, Dubai Municipality reports that food accounts for 22% of total waste produced in Dubai and that figure rises to 55% during Ramadan. 🌱 How Amazon is making its packaging more efficient

Earlier this year, Amazon announced the rollout of an innovative scheme that it hopes can help to reduce unnecessary packaging. The ‘Ships in Product Packaging’ programme tests packages to see if they can be shipped in their original manufacturer’s packaging, eliminating the need for extra cardboard boxes or paper bags from Amazon. Products that pass this text are eligible for discounts on the fulfilment fee that Amazon charges its partners. Read more

🌱 Unilever launches first UK regenerative Ag Project for mint and mustard

Unilever has launched its first regenerative-agriculture project in the UK this year — working with British farms that grow mustard seeds and mint leaves used in its Colman's products. Alongside food giants including General Mills, Kellogg Company, Nestlé and PepsiCo, Unilever is using its global influence on agricultural supply chains to help restore soil health and ensure long-term crop resilience.
