Here's a surprising fact: Women account for only 35% of all science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) graduates globally. And yet, many critical innovations such as fire escapes, windshield wipers, and home security systems were invented by women. Through our initiative with UNDP, we are dedicated to closing the gender gap and enhancing socio-economic opportunities for women and girls in Mexico. Here’s how: - STEM-Gender Equity – We offer a comprehensive learning program focused on gender equity and hands-on social projects. This program is accessible both in-person and online to reach as many students as possible, fostering a new generation of female STEM leaders. - Local Socio-Economic Empowerment – We provide training and seed capital to women leading social initiatives in the Puebla-Veracruz region. These women collaborate with students, to strengthen the learning ecosystem between STEM and gender. When there is social equity, the benefits extend throughout communities, leading to stronger economies, healthier environments, and a better world. Investing in women and gender equality is not just important—it's critical. #EnablingSocialEquity #STEM

🌍 The EU is leading the pathway toward integrating women in STEM and building a more inclusive digital future! In the rapidly expanding digital economy, women remain underrepresented—making up only 17% of tech sector jobs and just 20% of ICT graduates. To close this gap, the EU’s Digital Education Action Plan has set a concrete course to increase young women's participation in STEM studies and careers. 📈 Here’s how the EU is making an impact: - Through programs like Girls Go Circular, the EU aims to engage 40,000 young women by 2027, providing them with crucial digital and entrepreneurship skills needed. - Across Europe, ESTEAM events are sparking creativity and confidence among young women, helping them recognize their potential to innovate and make a difference in digital and technical fields. - The EU is developing new higher education programs in engineering and ICT, encouraging women to pursue these vital career paths. 🌟 At STEMAzing Women, we’re aligned with these EU goals by empowering young women in rural and remote areas, equipping them with essential STEM skills to help them break barriers, grow their confidence, and thrive in high-demand fields. ✨ Explore more about the EU’s commitment to gender equality and digital skill-building here https://lnkd.in/dU69taaD #WomenInSTEM #GenderEquality #DigitalSkills #EUActionPlan #FutureOfWork #STEMAzingWomen

Honored to be invited by the Deputy Executive Chairperson of the National Youth Development Agency - South Africa to speak on a pivotal topic: the role of women in academia. Under the theme "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," the event brought together passionate individuals committed to advancing gender equality and empowering women in all spheres of life. In my address, I emphasized the indispensable roles women play in academia. From groundbreaking research to fostering inclusive learning environments, women scholars contribute immensely to the advancement of knowledge and societal progress. As Maya Angelou profoundly stated, "Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it, possibly without claiming it, she stands up for all women." Women in academia serve as mentors and role models, inspiring the next generation of learners and researchers. Their diverse perspectives enrich scholarly discourse and drive innovation across disciplines. Moreover, their advocacy for gender equity ensures that academic institutions remain inclusive and equitable spaces for all. Reflecting on the event, several key takeaways emerge: Supporting women in academia is not just a moral imperative but also a strategic investment in the future. By providing equal opportunities, resources, and recognition, we amplify their contributions and unlock their full potential. Achieving gender equality requires collaboration among stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector. Together, we can dismantle barriers and create pathways for women's success in academia. Education serves as a powerful tool for empowering women and narrowing gender gaps. By prioritizing access to quality education and promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields for women, we pave the way for transformative change. Recognizing the intersecting identities and experiences of women is essential in addressing systemic inequalities. Our efforts must be intersectional, taking into account factors such as race, class, sexuality, and disability, to ensure that no woman is left behind. In conclusion, the event underscored the urgency of investing in women to accelerate progress towards gender equality and inclusive development. As we continue our collective journey towards a more equitable society, let us heed Maya Angelou's wisdom and stand in solidarity with women, amplifying their voices and championing their rights at every turn. Together, we can build a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and contribute her unique talents to the betterment of humanity. National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) 😊
