Trust is central to the work we do at Holos. Whether it is building trust in an executive team who are highly suspicious of each other, or across the exec team minus one layer to dismantle silos and increase collaboration, or teaching people how to quickly build trust. Trust is also central to our client relationships - for clients to hire us they have to trust us deeply. Of course they have to trust that we CAN do, what we say we will do and they also have to trust that we WILL do what we say we will do, but more importantly they have to know, with certainty that we are on the same side. They have to know that we are not competing with them. In other words we are not there just to make a profit from them, but that we both, client and supplier, serve a higher purpose. In our case that purpose is to help people, teams and organisations deliver sustained success through the application of authentic leadership. Authentic leadership being a style of leadership that creates an environment of psychological safety that enables people to be the best versions of themselves as much of the time as possible. That best version is the interdependent, collaborative, trusting version that is willing to be vulnerable and therefore capable of leadership. Leadership requires vulnerability. "As much of the time as possible" means minimising triggering to the version of ourselves that is competitive, suspicious and worried about status, or the version of ourselves that is dependent, finds it hard to take the initiative and waits for instructions. One of the exercises we use we call Red and Black - it is based on the Prisoner's Dilemma and illustrates how collaborative strategies are more successful than selfish ones. This video tells the history of the Prisoner's Dilemma and validates why of vision for Universal Authentic Leadership would make the world a better place. https://lnkd.in/esEVgUDR

🔍𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦. To truly understand the challenge we're solving, we must first know the obvious and engage deeply with the ordinary. NYU Stern School of Business Prof. Adam Brandenburger observes in his article that by seeing differently, we can end up seeing what no one else has yet seen. 💡He quotes a French mathematician, Blaise Pascal: “Small minds are concerned with the extraordinary, great minds with the ordinary.”💡 𝐈𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐣𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Instead, we must first observe the problem and immerse ourselves in the everyday realities of the people impacted by it, to uncover the insights that others may overlook. What’s your approach to seeing beyond the obvious? 👀🔍 #DesignThinking #Empathy #Innovation #ProblemSolving #Leadership #CustomerExperience
