How can this figure be prevented from rising further? We can make a change. 🌍 On the occasion of World Environment Day, at Hinojosa we want to raise awareness of the urgent need to use more efficient, sustainable and planet-friendly packaging alternatives. Today, on Earth Day, let's remember the importance of taking action to protect our planet. Mexico is currently facing a severe drought in major lakes such as Valle de Bravo and Cuitzeo. As individuals and organizations, we all have a role to play in tackling environmental challenges. Seven years ago, I started making changes in my personal life and the companies I've led. Here are some of the actions we took: - Transitioned our fleets to hybrid or electric cars, with no economic impact to the company. - Cut out single-use plastic water bottles to reduce plastic consumption. - Located our offices in LEED certified buildings to reduce our environmental footprint. - Composted and recycled at home, and implemented courses to teach others how to do the same. - Reduced meat consumption, as it requires 9600% more water to produce a kilogram of meat compared to wheat. - Taught our children how to live in a more sustainable way. Let's continue to take action towards a more sustainable future, both in our personal lives and in our organizations. #EarthDay2021 #Sustainability #ClimateAction
