🚚 **Shipping Safety Reminder from Whitewater Freight** 🚚 Now might be a good time for a reminder Hey Shippers! 🌦️ Remember, when the weather takes a turn for the worse, it's crucial to prioritize safety over schedules. DO NOT let carriers charge you for layovers due to weather delays. Just as we wouldn't charge drivers for not delivering in perilous conditions, shippers and receivers shouldn't be charged either. No load is worth someone's life. Let's keep safety first! 🛡️ #ShippingSafety #WeatherDelays #WhitewaterFreight #SafetyFirst

📦 Loading reefer freight requires precision and care to maintain optimal conditions throughout the journey. Here are key points to safeguard your cargo: 1. Temperature Monitoring: Ensure the reefer unit is set to the correct temperature range for your cargo. 2. Proper Stacking: Avoid blocking airflow within the container to evenly distribute cold air. 3. Secure Packaging: Use sturdy packaging to protect goods from shifting during transit. 4. Pre-cooling: Chill cargo before loading to minimize temperature fluctuations. 5. Sealing: Seal containers tightly to prevent air leaks and maintain insulation. 6. Training: Train loaders on proper handling techniques to avoid damage. By adhering to these guidelines, you can safeguard your reefer freight and maintain product integrity from start to finish. #ReeferFreight #Logistics #CargoSafety #cbl #clevelandbaylogisticsinc🚛🔒

Watermellon season is up for grabs. Just had one broker quote some freight not watermellons from FL to TN 3 months project at 1.20$ a mile saying he got carriers doing them 1.10$. We quoted way way way higher than that with just basic knowledge of market. Capacity gets tight , rates go high. Weather has been great this year meaning there will be more watermellons than ever. Looking forward to this customer reaching out to us in a few weeks. When this brokers carrier goes MIA and he returns the freight. IMO - carriers doing rates like 1.10$ a mile even as a back haul is not good. This is no longer 2014 prices went up 150% on everything and you still want your back haul to be done at that rate. Pathetitic I feel sorry for carriers that have to do this. Hope you will learn and grow and realise what you are doing. If you don't... #logistics #planning #goodluck #needrecovery #please #landstar

Dangerous goods containers aren't handled the same way as normal containers. To understand why this is important, in 1919, in Boston Harbor, a giant storage tank filled with molasses (classified as hazardous due to its flammability) burst, unleashing a wave of thick molasses that rose up to 50 feet high and travelled at 35 miles per hour. The incident is now referred to as The Great Molasses Flood. It flooded the streets, destroying buildings and injuring people. The story goes that it took weeks, if not months, to fully clean up the sticky mess! This is why these containers are specially designed to transport hazardous materials safely and securely. However storage facilities and warehouses have to also put measures in place to ensure that they are well handled. At NICT, to ensure safety, we have put mechanisms in place to contain any incidents. We have a specially designed area for dangerous goods with a fire hose installed. The area is also under 24-hour surveillance. We also have emergency procedures to ensure incidents are contained. Our trained personnel also ensure adherence to safety protocols. If you bring in Dangerous goods containers, we are the right partners for you. Speak to us. #CFS #Logistics #supplychain #globaltrade

Did You Know? 65% of Container Cargo Damage Comes Down to Poor Stuffing Practices 📦 #OceanFreight #ContainerShipping #LogisticsSafety #SupplyChainRisks Think improper loading is just about weight limits? Think again. The truth about container stuffing might shock you. The Container Crisis Nobody Talks About: Two-thirds of cargo damage isn't from wild weather or shipping accidents—it starts before the journey even begins, with poor loading practices. Why Proper Stuffing Standards Matter: 🚢 Ship Stability: Overloading can throw a vessel off balance, putting the entire crew and cargo at risk. ⚠️ Floor Failures: Dense, overloaded containers put stress on container floors, risking collapse and damage to everything inside. ⛔ Port Rejections: Overweight containers? Expect costly reloading and hefty fines at port. 💸 Equipment Damage: Overstuffing accelerates wear and tear on cranes and handling machinery, leading to unexpected downtime and expenses. 🕒 Hidden Costs: Think delays are just a minor setback? Add up detention charges, reloading fees, and disrupted schedules—it’s a financial nightmare. The Real Kicker? Most of these issues don’t stem from equipment failures; they're human errors—avoidable if you take the right precautions. When containers get flagged at port, it’s not just a delay; it’s a bleeding wound for your supply chain in both time and money. Bottom Line: If you're pushing weight limits to "save money," you're not just risking a shipment; you're gambling with your entire logistics operation. Your Turn: What container stuffing nightmares have you encountered? Share your stories below! 👇

Never thought about it but its ever present, passing us on truck & trailers… First is Prohibited routes for dangerous goods transportation - hadn't thought about it driving along my merry way….. like none allowed through tunnels in Sydney…think Harbour Tunnel! Nope, they need to go over the Sydney Harbour coat hanger! Second was placarding…. for dangerous goods? See them everywhere in different countries, same principle. WIIFM. They inform emergency responders - if shipping papers aren't available at the scene of an accident, a placard may be the only way responders know what materials are involved in the accident. Compliance in logistics at all levels. Gain critical insights into the what, who, and where of your shipments. @cargowisepartners

Refrigerated containers aka reefers are an important segment of container equipment. The global #food supply chain network relies on this equipment to move temperature sensitive products all around the world. Any equipment imbalances lead to exporters using general cargo containers and dry ice as a temperature regulator, a method notorious for food goods perishing in transit at faster rates than necessary. Managing global supply of reefers is quite a challenge for the carriers, but also for the land transport (mostly trucks) and for the container terminals. It is very important for the terminals to strike a right balance between general yard and reefer-specific yard which requires plug ins and continuous checking of the status of container plugged in at the terminal and awaiting loading on the ships. The quantity of the containers and the plug ins has to add up at each stage of the journey, as emergency generators mounted on the containers offer only partial protection and cannot be used in all situation even if there is the failure of mainline supply. Good analysis by Drewry Reasearch and DHL. Link to the DHL update deck in the first comment. #coldchain #network #optimization
