There is so much alpha just sitting out there Here is a simple example Several years ago a few funds realized that putting a really high rating in their valuation models on Glassdoor scores generated significant outperformance What was the major insight? It was simply that people who are getting surprise bonuses for company outperformance (i.e. the company is doing really well) don't give low scores. No need to overcomplicate things when there are so many simple ideas out there that work and make sense

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to get caught up in the never-ending stream of challenges and forget to pause, take a breath, and celebrate our achievements. I am guilty of this, focusing nearly all my energy and attention on what to improve rather than what has gone right. We’re often so focused on the next problem to solve that we overlook the importance of acknowledging the hard work that led to our success. Today, I’m taking a moment to do just that. I’m incredibly proud of the recognition our company has received thus far in 2024. These industry awards are a testament to the dedication, innovation, and relentless effort our team puts in every day. We’ve come a long way, and it’s important to celebrate these milestones. They not only remind us of what we’ve accomplished but also fuel our motivation to keep pushing forward. Here’s to taking the time to acknowledge our wins, no matter how big or small. 🌎 It’s only right that during B Corp Month we shout out the person who made it all happen: Laura (Lo) Martin Companies who are B Corp certified have gone through an assessment process conducted by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. 🌱 We spoke with Lo about our ongoing B Corp journey: Are there any key insights from the B Corp journey that you’d like to share? “Conduct thorough research. It takes a long time to complete the assessment and it will require a small team to work collectively and put time aside each week to review current practices, establish new protocols, and implement them across the entire company. Think about who's in your team. I divided the assessment into sections and assigned areas to team members based on their knowledge and expertise. It was a collaborative experience and it would have never become fruitful if we didn't work together.” Were there any fallbacks? "Establishing deadlines and remaining open to flexibility. The more you engage in the assessment, the clearer it becomes which areas require improvement. Group efforts are necessary to address and implement those improvements which takes time." Why was it important for Big Potato to become a B Corp? "It was a no brainer. We want to make games that are good, look good and do good. We’ve always been a business that strives to make a positive difference and we see B-Corp as a way to help us keep improving and being better. One of things we talk about at Big Potato is being bothered and B-Corp is a way for us to demonstrate to our staff, consumers and customers that we’re bothered about the impact we have on the planet." What are Big Potato’s main priorities in having high standards of social and environmental performance? "It's our commitment to contribute to society in a positive way. B-Corp is a framework that helps us bake high standards into the way we operate every day. We want to keep growing as a business and show some of the bigger players in our category that there is another way. B Corp helps us prioritise the people that work here, helps us think about the resources we use and the impact we have on communities as we grow; so that we’re doing it in the right way." Did we learn anything during this process? "Be realistic on how long it takes and aim high to gain as many points as possible. It is a fun and an exciting project that is 100% worth doing. I’m super proud of what we have achieved and to be part of a B Corp certified company." Do you have anything else to add? "The recertification dates are already in the diary."
