I've spent three years at Devsinc as a Senior Frontend Engineer, during which I conducted several interviews and mentored numerous freshly hired Software Engineers, commonly referred to as ASEs. Many recent graduates often inquire about the essential questions and areas to cover in order to secure a position at prominent IT companies. Here's my advice: For beginners, focusing on three fundamental topics is crucial: 1. Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) 2. Database Concepts 3. Data Structures A strong grasp of these areas significantly enhances your chances of landing a job. However, it's essential to recognize that interview experiences can vary based on the interviewers' preferences and the company's specific needs. While optimism is key, it's also important to remain adaptable and open-minded throughout the process. #ASE #InterviewAdvice #Hiring

Without trying to oversell it, lately, I have been receiving a couple of genuine offers for senior & leadership positions/roles in the front-end dev space. They were surprisingly upfront about how much they were willing to offer me, but I decided after thinking about it that it is not what I truly need right now. I am first and foremost, NOT an opportunistic person. That is just not my style or how I roll. But just to be clear, it is not blind faith or loyalty either. If my past experience has taught me anything, it's that life can be very unpredictable. But that doesn't mean that when we have been given something, that we shouldn't do our very best in it, make the most of it. To me, better pay is always nice. I mean, at my peak, I was making about $8.5K per month. It was a nice time for my life. But it was also a period of my life that I had squandered away (in hindsight). What that taught me is that, it is not about how much we can earn/make every month, it is about how much we can save and set aside. I might be earning much lesser today than when I was at my peak. But it's okay. I took on this career opportunity because the work that I get to do everyday also brings me a sense of purpose and meaning. I am currently working on a project/app that was once (at it's peak) better than other web browsers like Firefox and Chrome. I guess I've always been drawn towards the underdog stories. Considering that I've always been that underdog myself. My hope is that by staying committed to my current company, I would have the opportunity to make an impact in a real way. Help my company to one day compete again with the big dogs, in very much the same way that it did all those years ago. That guys, is a great legacy to leave behind should I decide to move on to other opportunities in the future (after my work/purpose here is done). #frontenddevs #devs #frontenddevelopers #gitkraken #android #androidstudio #androiddev #java #frontendspecialists #joboffers #sayingno #ikigai #purpose #purposedrivenlife #meaninginlife #webbrowsers #commitment #dedication #ux #uxdesign #workinprogress #legacy #positiveimpact

🚀 Exciting Milestone Reached: 300 LeetCode Problems Solved! 🎉 I'm thrilled to announce that I've hit a significant milestone on LeetCode: 300 problems solved! 🌟 (I hope this post reaches the right recruiters 😜) Reflecting on this journey, I remember how daunting it seemed at the outset to even tackle a hundred problems and I kept putting my prep on hold because of that. But with dedication and the invaluable guidance from Strivers takeUforward channel on YouTube, I've not only surpassed my initial goal of 150 problems but also delved deeper into understanding the intricate patterns behind problem-solving. The past four to five months have been incredibly busy for me, but every moment invested has been absolutely worthwhile. Initially, my aim was to solve enough problems to be interview-ready. However, as I immersed myself in solving problems and absorbing the insights shared by Strivers, I discovered a newfound sense of clarity and enjoyment in the process. Now, I not only solve LeetCode problems but also strive for optimal solutions, a feat that once felt out of reach. This journey has taught me that success is not just about solving problems; it's about consistent practice and embracing the learning curve. While the initial stages may feel disheartening and directionless, staying committed to the process and adhering to proven methodologies eventually brings everything into focus. Yet, I acknowledge that this is just the beginning of a continuous learning journey. In the realm of data structures and algorithms, there's always more to explore, more problems to solve, and more ways to refine our skills. I'm excited to continue pushing my boundaries and mastering this craft, one problem at a time. Join me in celebrating this milestone and embracing the ethos of continuous improvement! 💪 . . . . #leetcode #leetcodechallenge #softwaredevelopment #meta #opentowork #jobsearch #hireme #jobhunt #jobseeker #hiring #recruitment #jobsearching #remotework #workfromhome #amazon #developer #softwareengineer #DataStructures #Algorithm #ContinuousLearning #coding

I've seen many people working as developers without having the necessary skills. Despite this, they keep going, and the whole system continues. They somehow manage to secure jobs solely based on experience, but 70% of them aren't truly fit to be called developers. If these individuals focused on their actual strengths instead, it would benefit both them and the company. On the other hand, there are developers without a degree who produce excellent work that surpasses many with professional experience. They just need some polishing to thrive in a professional environment. What do you think should be the criteria for hiring developers? #Developers #SkillsMatter #Hiring #TechTalent #JobCriteria #SoftwareDevelopment

If you’re looking for work or looking to hire, this post is for you! 🛑 We all know LinkedIn isn’t always the most enjoyable experience when job hunting, but it can be improved—and it all starts with the job description. Creating a job description is crucial in defining what your company does, what you’re looking for, and making sure the right people are compelled to apply. We recently reviewed Grepr job description for a Frontend Developer Role. They nailed it when it comes to transparency about the role and who they are as a company. However, we had some thoughts on how they could refine the job description to attract even better talent by improving its readability and flow. 🔻 🔻 🔻 🎯 Grepr does a great job of being upfront about the autonomy and responsibilities that come with the Frontend Engineer role, which is crucial for candidates seeking startup experiences. 🎯 They clearly outline the tech stack (React, TypeScript, Kubernetes, AWS) 🎯 Emphasizing their values around teamwork, open communication, and a no-ego attitude, making it easy for candidates to understand the work environment. 😭 While the job description provides valuable information, it could benefit from clearer structure, more concise sections, and less dense text to improve readability and appeal to a broader audience. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GREPR is working on some exciting technology in observability and boasts a great tech stack. If you're drawn to startup culture and want a role where your input matters, We definitely recommend applying! https://www.grepr.ai/ Link to Job Post 👇 https://lnkd.in/g4Y8sqr6 Comment below your pet peeves of reading job descriptions. ⁉ #hiring #frontenddeveloper #changehiring
