Today's audiences want to feel seen and understood. And if we want to help them take action towards a more sustainable future, whether that's by changing a purchasing decision, voting, or signing a petition, we need to use our communications to demonstrate that understanding. We're past the stage of awareness: logic and facts will do little to persuade. Emotional resonance, on the other hand, is highly persuasive. Here's how to change hearts, minds and behaviours by building human connections: https://lnkd.in/gSszqE4M

While digital is smart and lets me share this with you, to me print is king! In the early days of my journalism career, I kept clippings of my articles. This is for the scrapbook of Fleming Voetmann. In this Berlingske article, he explains how VELUX is working with sustainability. And this is fortunately a never-ending story! #sustainability

More is less. Simple is better. I came across this from a website while researching a new trash collection company. Nobody should be afraid to use plain language when articulating their value proposition. The translation from what I gathered from the rest of the site (the critic I me wanted to dig deeper.): “Communication is key. We promise to keep you updated about schedule updates and let you know if something changes. We’re environmentally conscious, so working with us helps the planet.” #Marketing #Messaging #Positioning.

In the #sustainability movement, I often see professionals recycle the same logic and communication style as their non-sustainability peers. However, we won't create the worlds our hearts and souls truly desire by blindly copying the how-to of traditional communications. Is agitating pain the only way to get your message across? What if by framing the world in terms of problem-solution risks leaving out out something essential and profoundly human out of the picture? Regenerative communicators work to manifest potential and create the conditions for human beings - not just consumers or users, to tap deeper into their essence and connect more fully with their places and communities. Regenerative communicators communicate through beauty, truth, and focus on enlivenment. They develop people's thinking to make wise decisions and activate their agency to become stewards of Earth. We don't have all the answers yet, which is precisely why Emilie, Jean-Philippe and I co-founded re:storied - to co-create #communication pathways in service of life.
