It is TOUGH out there. Our hospitality industry is suffering. It is very sad to see, both from the business point of you as well as the customer point of you. Between trying to save your business from the cost of living crisis and the current state of our economy, the constant cost and tax increases... it can seem very dark and gloomy. However, it is not the time to make rash, panicked decisions and throw ineffective 'improvements' or pseudo-solutions out there I have seen many restaurants and bars doing as of lately. It's time to analyse your organisational needs, prioritise what is the most urgent change that is needed, and build a strategy to achieve it within a reasonable period of time. This is where VenueVision comes in. Together, we will look at cold hard facts and areas that need urgent attention in your business and come up with a concise, uncomplicated plan to bring you back on track. The economy is screwed. So what can venue owners do? Get out. Or. Buy another venue. If you want to get out, then get out soon, because your mindset (of wanting to get out) will make you fail if you want to stay in, and you're good at something, then: • consider finding another venue you can be good at • learn the skills to run two - different than skills for one • repeat your concept, tailor to the new location A couple of provisos: 1. your current venue MUST be doing ok in these times 2. you MUST be committed to changing the way you work 3. you MUST not be heading towards burnout There are plenty of empty venues. There are plenty of tenant-less landlords. There are deals to be had if you are willing to look for them. The benefit is that you: • spread your risk • increase your opportunity • maybe make from 2 what once you earned from one Learn how to run multiple venues. The optimum number for a solo operator is 3-5 without requiring an additional level of management Want to talk this strategy through? Excited to share this insightful article from Caterer.com by Allen Simpson on the crucial role of the hospitality industry and the call to keep its doors open. As the article rightly points out, hospitality isn't just about serving food and drinks; it's about creating memorable experiences, fostering community, and driving economic growth (In the past six years, hospitality has increased its annual economic contribution by £20 billion to £93 billion). In these challenging times, it's more important than ever to support the hospitality sector. Whether it's through patronizing local restaurants, hotels, or cafes, or advocating for policies that support the industry, we all play a role in keeping these vital doors open. I'm inspired by the resilience and creativity of hospitality professionals who continue to adapt and innovate in the face of adversity. Let's join hands to ensure that the hospitality industry not only survives but thrives in the days ahead. 💪 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e5Q4KM7z #HospitalityIndustry #SupportLocal #Community #EconomicGrowth #Resilience #Innovation #KeepTheDoorsOpen
