Volunteering is not just a noble act of kindness, but a powerful force for change. When we volunteer, we share our skills, time, and energy with others who need them. We also learn from different perspectives, cultures, and experiences. We become more aware of the challenges and opportunities that exist in our world, and we become more motivated to make a positive difference. But what if everyone volunteered? What if more than eight billion people decided to give back to their communities, their countries, and their planet? Imagine the impact that would have on the issues that matter to us, such as poverty, health, education, environment, peace, and justice. Imagine the solutions that would emerge from the collaboration and innovation of volunteers. Imagine the sense of solidarity and belonging that would grow among people of different backgrounds, beliefs, and values. That is the vision. #InternationalDayForVolunteers

We agree with so much of this! Our #SkillsBasedVolunteering report found that corporate volunteering is a triple win for everyone involved, including charities, volunteers, and businesses. Our report is backed up with ten years of experience offering skills based volunteering to our small charity partners, and connecting with our colleagues Lloyds Banking Group. We have seen direct wins for businesses, including: ✅ contribute to staff learning and development directly impacting the strength of a workforce, its wellbeing as well as building staff connection, and relationships. ✅ added social value through programmes, directly having a positive impact on business' reputation ✅ enabling volunteers to gain a better understanding of societal issues can lead to greater support for customers who may themselves face the same issues. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to transform lives. 💖🌍 Today, on International Volunteer Day, we celebrate the incredible power of compassion and giving. Volunteering is not just about what we do for others; it’s about the growth and strength we gain through giving. By helping others, we learn to lead with heart, face challenges with resilience, and build stronger communities together. It teaches us to care deeply, listen closely, and act with purpose. Even the smallest gesture can create a ripple of hope. Leadership begins with service—by showing up for others, offering kindness, and fostering unity. Volunteering not only makes a difference in the lives of others, but it also enriches and strengthens the one who gives their time and energy. A kind word, a hug, or simply being present can make a world of difference. These simple acts of care remind people they are not alone and that they are seen and valued. Together, let’s create a world where compassion and service inspire every action. Each effort, no matter how small, brings us closer to a brighter, more united future. Volunteering is a chance to lead with empathy, make lasting change, and become stronger, kinder people—one act of kindness at a time. #InternationalVolunteerDay #LeadershipThroughService #KindnessMatters #SmallActionsBigImpact #BeThere #VolunteeringWithHeart #MakeADifference

1moNon-profits fill essential gaps in our communities, and often with tight budgets, increasing demands, daily speed bumps and barriers, and a heart that says “we will turn no one away.” But it is hard work. Volunteers are crucial. The more these folks give of their time, expertise, ingenuity, creativity, manpower, and passion, the more nonprofits can increase their impact. THANK YOU to volunteers everywhere. Today and every day ❤️
