Awalé Resources (TSX-V: ARIC) CEO Andrew Chubb talked with Proactive about the latest assays from drilling at the Charger and BBM targets at the Odienné project in Côte d'Ivoire. The first five holes of a 21-hole program have returned positive results. Chubb highlighted that nine holes were drilled at Charger and 12 at BBM, with the program covering nearly 7,000 meters. Key findings include a 1,500-gram meter intercept at the Charger target and a follow-up 580-gram meter intercept. These results help connect the breccia system in the subsurface, providing targets for deeper drilling and potential volume expansion. On July 1, 2024, the first crude cargo from Woodside's Sangomar oil project began loading. The Greek-flagged Maran Poseidon tanker, with a capacity of 1.06 million barrels, arrived at the export terminal, marking a historic moment for Senegal. The $5.2 billion Sangomar development highlights Senegal's growing role in the energy sector. Woodside, the project operator, holds an 82% stake, while state-owned Petrosen owns 18%. Oil is being loaded from the Leopold Sedar Senghor FPSO vessel, located 100 km off Dakar's coast. This milestone also comes as Senegal prepares for the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG project with BP, which is expected to start later this year. Petrosen's Thierno Ly stated, "The first oil from the Sangomar field marks a new era for our industry, economy, and people. We are positioned for growth, innovation, and success." #energy #oil #senegal

Batumi oil terminal resumed shipment of Kazakh dark oil products for delivery to European countries using the berthless loading method. Aframax tankers with a carrying capacity of 60 to 80 thousand tons have become a means of transporting these goods to European countries, starting in March 2024. On a regular monthly basis, it is planned to implement the plan for the export of Kazakh petroleum products, which became possible thanks to the development of new transport and transit routes. Since October 2018, large-scale transportation of fuel oil and vacuum gas oil has been suspended, however, the current possibility of using Aframax allows optimizing transport costs, making the route through Batumi not only economically profitable, but also contributing to an increase in cargo transshipment volumes.

This reopening is set to significantly reduce fuel transport costs from Benghazi Port to the Tobruk Power Plant, cut down delivery times, and provide a more reliable fuel supply. The Libya National Oil Corporation’s Board of Directors extends heartfelt gratitude to the Brega Oil Marketing Company’s dedicated team for reactivating this essential quay, along with the support from Tobruk Port authorities in making this milestone a reality.
