"We can socialize the joy of giving as a value and connecting feature of our communities. It is not only impact. It is purpose. And this purpose can be shared." This quote from BWF CEO Joshua Birkholz's recent piece "We Believe in Everyday Donors. And We Choose to Defend Them." is a great reminder, especially at this time of year, about the work of fundraisers and nonprofit professionals alike. 🔍 How are we integrating the joy of giving and creating impact into Giving Tuesday and year end campaigns? 🙌 Are we stewarding gifts in ways that communicate impact and spark joy in donors? 🙋♂️ Have you shared what inspires you to give and the joy you get from giving with your people? The last few months of the year are always stressful, especially in philanthropy. Taking the time to feel and talk about the joy of giving offers each of a chance to focus on something uplifting.

December is a good time to reflect on your giving. As you do, it's worth remembering what makes philanthropy unique: the ability to respond quickly to urgent needs and the patience to drive long-term systems change. A legacy of giving can become part of a family's past and present to inspire future generations to continue the cycle. And these are just a few of the many benefits.
