Welcome to June! Here are three things you can do this month to advocate for the girl child: 1. *Write Encouraging Letters*: Reach out to girls in your community or through organizations that support girl children. Write letters of encouragement, letting them know they are capable, strong, and valued. 2. *Support Education*: Donate books, school supplies, or even your time to tutor or mentor girls. Education is a powerful tool for empowerment, and your contribution can make a significant difference in their lives. 3. *Raise Awareness*: Use your voice on social media or in your local community to highlight issues affecting girls. Share stories, facts, and ways others can get involved in supporting and advocating for the rights and opportunities of girl children. I joined an amazing organization - Families Forward Charlotte and they need YOU. 1️⃣ Help recruit Family Liaison mentors. Keys to being a great Family Liaison - having the time, being open to forming a new relationship with a family in our program, and approaching their situation with grace and understanding. No specific skills needed! I have attached a flyer that you can pass on to anyone interested. More information and links to sign up can also be found on our website: https://lnkd.in/eNdMjiVf A great way to share the information is from our social media pages. We don't have recent posts about being a Family Liaison but look for them over the coming months. 2️⃣ Share our need for child watch volunteers Volunteers will need to be background checked if 18 or older. Needs are primarily 5:30-8:30pm on Tuesdays and 10:30-1:30pm on Saturdays. A recent social media post about it can be found here. https://lnkd.in/eVH_RYiX 3️⃣ Share our need for meals Meals can be provided in multiple ways: -homemade or store bought frozen meals -prepared or purchased meals to be served at workshops (to children and/or adults). Link to a great example. https://lnkd.in/eVH_RYiX 4️⃣ Connect us with organizations or groups we can speak to community groups or clubs, churches, professional organizations, rotary clubs, etc. Connect us via email or schedule a meeting with the agency and one of our staff. Reach out to Carrie Christian to coordinate. 5️⃣ Help us thank our #volunteers! Write thank you notes or make phone calls to thank Family Liaison mentors or other volunteers. Let me know how many you want to commit to doing and which form you are most comfortable with and I will share the information needed with you. #charlottenc
