Congratulations to our 19 C4 Unit for receiving the Chief of Defence Force National Education (NE) Excellence Award! The award recognises outstanding efforts in strengthening the commitment to Singapore's defence in our SAF servicemen. As part of the award, Chief of Defence Force, VADM Aaron Beng paid a visit to 19 C4 Unit to learn more about the unit's various efforts in fostering NE values throughout their servicemen, as well as an overview of the unit and their operations. Babcock is halfway through an extended drydock period with HMNZS Te Mana during which 335 workdays would have been invested in the ship. The work being carried out will ensure that the vessel is fit for operational and crew requirements to push out her future life capability. This will complement the work Babcock has already completed on HMNZS Te Kaha. This effort not only strengthens New Zealand’s defence capabilities, but ensures both ANZAC class frigates are future-proofed to serve and defend.

Was a pleasure today to present an inservice training session for the PCRF team at RAF Odiham on Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (MTSS) Military BPGs, and rehabilitation strategies. The session included open discussions about theories behind MTSS, previous and current rehabilitation practices, treatment modalities, key factors influencing recovery, and practical approaches for managing and preventing MTSS. We emphasised discussion around the importance of early intervention, individualised treatment plans, and load management to improve recovery and performance outcomes covering all populations but more specifically in a military setting - supporting operational readiness and reducing injury risk🦿📊

AERALIS was once again in attendance at the Military Flight Training (MFT) conference, held this week at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, Kensington. The three-day training conference is a crucial forum for military flight training stakeholders from across the globe to come together. The relevance of this year’s event was perhaps more acute than ever, as the event organisers summarised so well: “With airspace becoming increasingly contested, near-peer competitors’ training capability is advancing at an unprecedented rate. In the current dynamic and unpredictable security environment, air forces must work together to maximise the proficiency and readiness of military aircrew for the future fight.” AERALIS Head of Sales Programme, David Townsend, commented: “The MFT conference had the largest turnout yet of over 350 attendees, this demonstrates how critical military flying training is on the global agenda and enabled us to have quality conversations with many international customers and industry professionals. As the sole programme of its kind, and with the current global lack of fast jet training, AERALIS’s mission is to spearhead a world-leading training capability for an FCAS-enabled future, with our industry partners and of course, the RAF. MFT was encouraging in its focus on transformation in training and procurement – areas that the AERALIS reconfigurable air system proposition addresses directly as we recognise the nation’s challenge of generating sufficient flying training instructors and the need to plan the training solution for 6th generation aircraft.” #MilitaryFlyingTraining #AERALIS #Defence

While all employers establish a minimum requirement of roles and responsibilities, it is often the ways in which we go beyond these expectations that truly adds value to our organisations and enhances our job satisfaction. As I prepare to return home after a rewarding deployment to Eastern Europe, I reflect on the past months with a sense of pride. Serving as Duty Air Movements Officer, I was empowered to manage all UK Military and Civilian air transport flights in my area of responsibility, leading a team of 9. This role allowed me to uphold and surpass the high standards of aircraft handling, freight forwarding and operations integral to the RAF, MOD, and UK defence. Optimising team performance was a key focus of mine. By mentoring my JNCO and developing a strategic workforce plan together, we maintained our operational output with a reduced footprint while adhering to Fatigue Management Policies. This initiative not only enhanced our efficiency but also provided valuable growth opportunities for my JNCO. The initiative was recognised and adopted by higher commands, underscoring our commitment to continuous improvement. Additionally, my role as the International Donor Coordination Centre Liaison enabled me to facilitate crucial connections between agencies, enhancing operational output and fostering NATO interoperability. One such collaboration has contributed to work establishing a UK-French Air Mobility Force exchange program. Reflecting on these experiences, I am proud of how leveraging my situational awareness enabled me to positively influence areas beyond my role, fostering personal growth and enhancing my skills. These challenges have honed my abilities, preparing me to contribute even more effectively in my next mission. I am eager to apply these valuable lessons in future endeavours. #Homecoming #RAF #Teamwork #OperationalExcellence #ContinuousImprovement

This is a reiteration of what I said at the 25th NATO TDL Symposium in 2023. Whenever a TDL training provider has a vacancy in an upcoming training session in one of the NATO countries and there is still room for interested students, the opportunity can be shared with the NATO Allied Air Command Operations Centre TDL Management Branch. All that is required is a one-pager with a brief description of the content, timeframe, registration deadline and other administrative details such as costs and a contact point. What do we do with this information? It will be made available to the NATO TDL community. A new section on external training opportunities will be added to our internal website. Why are we doing this? Not everyone who is interested has had/will have the opportunity to attend one of our NATO TDL Training Courses (e.g. Level 2 and Level 3 in accordance with ATDLP 5.55) in the desired timeframe due to available slots, selection criteria or conflicting events during the training schedule. Training is the first enabler, before practice (failures and successes) forges our skills. Every opportunity to be enabled to reach the next level should be known. The shared information will help allied training coordinators to identify the best available TDL training opportunity based on local requirements (e.g. time and budget constraints). To be clear, this is not limited to military training facilities. This offer also applies to commercial TDL training providers (e.g. in no particular order: Atheniem, SyntheSys Defence, Network Centric Solutions ...). Any questions? Feel free to contact me.

𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐂𝐎 🫡 The word WILCO in aviation and military communication is an abbreviation for WILL COMPLY. The phrase WILL COMPLY was shortened to WILCO as a part of an effort to streamline communication. It was often used in conjunction with ROGER which means "received." In practice, a response of ROGER WILCO meant that the message had been received, understood, and the instructions would be carried out. Over time, WILCO came to be used on its own to imply both understanding and compliance. While its use is primarily in military and aviation contexts, the term has also permeated into popular culture, symbolising a no-nonsense, affirmative response to instructions or duties assigned. #aviationenglish #icaoelp #aviationenglishteacher #aviationenglishlessons #elpexam #wilco
