Despite FDA clearance for both acute and preventive treatment in ages 8 and up, along with the abundance of clinical evidence in peer-reviewed journals, only a limited number of insurance providers currently cover the Nerivio® REN wearable, leaving many people living with migraine disease without affordable access to this essential non-drug therapy. Help the many living with migraine close this gap. Join the effort to advocate for broader insurance coverage of the REN wearable, so more children, adolescents, and adults can access effective migraine treatment without relying on medication. Whether you’re a pediatrician, headache specialist, or neurologist, follow Theranica’s LinkedIn page to learn more about how you can advocate for your patients and help expand access to care.

Among the key features of our AMD portal are education and support. Specifically featuring resources for eye habits and health, local education and support groups, transportation assistance resources, early detection & genetics, managing the disease, compliance with treatment, insurance tools and tips, medication copay assist programs, SDOH/health equity and barriers to adherence to treatment. The Thought Leadership & Innovation Foundation (TLI) is building "Eyes on the Future," a first-of-its-kind patient portal for Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) patients. Currently, there's no dedicated resource for AMD patients to seek information on their disease. At TLI, we believe AMD patients should have access to vital information and increased knowledge for better understanding and managing their own care. There are many benefits to this patient portal. Step therapy forces patients to try insurer-preferred drugs before accessing prescribed treatments, leading to harmful delays for those with chronic conditions. AWIR, alongside nearly 200 patient and provider organizations, is championing the Safe Step Act (H.R. 2630/S. 652), which will create exceptions to step therapy in employer health plans, ensuring faster access to the right treatments. The Safe Step Act would: • Streamline exceptions for patients when step therapy is medically inappropriate. • Ensure that clinical guidelines, not insurer preferences, guide treatment decisions. • Improve patient outcomes and reduce suffering by delayed care. With 38 states offering protections, why should millions with employer-based insurance still face these risks? How do you think step therapy impacts patient care? Share your thoughts below! 👉 Stand up for patients' rights—join AWIR today and help push the Safe Step Act forward to protect access to timely, life-changing treatments - https://bit.ly/3xhCRCQ 🔗 Click to learn more about taking action - https://bit.ly/3yL234Z

Umbra Health Advocacy has partnered with TrueHLTH, a digital healthcare navigation company focused on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), to power its MyTrueHLTH Patient Advocate Network. MyTrueHLTH is a first-of-its-kind platform dedicated to helping IBD patients find the programs and resources they need to assist with healthcare access, affordability, and care coordination. According to the American Gastroenterological Association, patients with IBD face a range of barriers to care, including prohibitive drug costs, insurance hurdles such as prior authorization and step therapy, forced switching of medications due to nonmedical reasons, and limited access to coordinated, specialized, and multidisciplinary care. The MyTrueHLTH platform includes the newly launched Patient Advocate Network with experts from across the healthcare spectrum, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to help those suffering with IBD to get the help they need. Participating advocates are members in good standing of the Alliance of Professional Health Advocates, which operates Umbra Health Advocacy to connect patients with independent, professional health advocates. I want to share a video of my experience as a Patient Ambassador with Dialysis Patient Citizens (DPC). In this video, I get transparent and share my journey with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and the critical need for the Restore Protections for Dialysis Patients Act. Like many others, my story began with a shocking ER visit that changed my life forever. Suddenly, I put my law school dream away, as I was facing almost daily dialysis treatments, struggling to balance work and school, and navigating the complex world of insurance. The Supreme Court's recent decision allows private insurers to weaken coverage in the first 30 months of dialysis care, a crucial period before many patients transition to Medicare. This change threatens to undo decades of established protections. We need your support! to Restore Protections for Dialysis Patients across the US. This legislation ensures dialysis patients can access comprehensive private insurance coverage during those critical first 30 months. Here is how you can make a difference: 1. Watch the video to understand the challenges faced by dialysis patients 2. Share this post to spread awareness 3. Contact your representatives to support the Restore Protections for Dialysis Patients Act - https://lnkd.in/gU-t7_SW 4. Consider becoming a Patient Ambassador with DPC To learn more or get involved, visit DPC's website: https://lnkd.in/gP2cWN3s I ask you to join my kidney family and me in reducing health inequities to ensure we can improve our lives while living with ESRD. Your support matters! #dialysisawareness #patientadvocacy #kidneyhealth #healthcare #dialysispatientcitizens

In a victory for the brain injury community, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has recognized traumatic brain injury (TBI) as a chronic health condition. CMS has added TBI to its list of chronic conditions for chronic special needs through its Medicare Advantage program effective for the January 2025 plan year This significant addition was made though the advocacy efforts of The Brain Injury Association of America who will continue to fight to expand coverage for all types of brain injury with the ultimate goal of greater coverage across all forms of public and private insurance. This is an important first step in advocacy efforts to expand coverage for brain injury beyond acute care and helps to make the case that brain injury should be treated by healthcare providers as a chronic condition like heart disease or diabetes. What's in your healthcare program? Comprehensive eye exams provide the only possible non-invasive view of blood vessels and the optic nerve. As a result, eye doctors can detect early signs of chronic diseases before any other healthcare provider. In fact, the study found that eye doctors were the first to identify signs of diabetes 34 percent of the time, high blood pressure 39 percent of the time, and high cholesterol 62 percent of the time in patients. Early intervention with effective treatment solutions! 50% of adults over age 60 will develop some type of vein disease. Billions of dollars are spent on wound care associated with advanced venous disease due to skin breakdown and open leg ulcers. Patients with leg ulcers are trapped in a cycle of bandage changes, debridement, skin grafts, antibiotics, hyperbaric treatments, and endless trips to wound care centers, in addition to the technology costs. #Medicare and private insurance companies are fully aware of the costs related to this problem. The Amsel Medical SCureClamp™ offers a clinical and economic solution - a minimally invasive mechanical treatment solution that is non-thermal, non-chemical, and a non-glue alternative, avoiding the complications reported with other technologies. Early intervention with SCureClamp may significantly reduce the burden of wound care associated skin breakdown and open leg ulcers treatments and its associated costs. #VenousDisease #MedicalInnovation #Investors #ACP #AVF, #AVLS, #woundcare, #venousulcers, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Aetna, a CVS Health Company, UnitedHealth Group, Humana, Cigna Healthcare David Doster Robert M.
