Climate change is killing us.
From record-breaking heat waves to catastrophic floods, changing weather patterns are devastating lives and livelihoods, especially in vulnerable communities that have contributed the least to climate change.
At The Rockefeller Foundation, we’re working to build resilient health systems that protect communities - especially the most vulnerable – from the health impacts of climate change.

Thank you for your hegemonic leadership Rockefeller Foundation! Today I read in Author Hon. Hillary Clinton's book It takes a village, in 2007 that one in five children in America live in poverty, ten million children do not have private or public health care coverage, homicide and suicide kill almost seven thousand children every year, one in four of all children are born to unmarried mothers, many of whom are children themselves, and 135,000 children bring guns to school each day. Children suffer from abuse, neglect, and preventable emotional problems (p.9). Wish America would stop funding war with 20 percent of peoples income/salary/wages as written from proven data in Jane Fondas book What Can I Do? In New Zealand CPAG Child poverty action group, the statistics are overwhelming too.
We completely agree. Promoting the use and expanding the use of bicycles is one approach that could help immensely. We’d love to partner with you in our efforts that are happening in Wisconsin and through bikes we send out internationally to places like Ghana, Malawi, and Honduras.
Which cities will still be livable in a world altered by climate change?
These northern U.S. communities may be well-placed to meet the needs of an influx of climate migrants as deadly wildfires, record heat, and damaging hurricanes increasingly affect day-to-day life in the southern and western parts of the U.S.

Increased drought is just one of the many devastating impacts of climate change, destroying landscapes and lives.
This World Drought and Desertification Day, hear from Marina Belén Romanello, PhD on why we must support the communities worst affected by drought to build resilience and solutions that work for them.
As Executive Director of The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change, Marina is part of the Foundation S Collective MindS Climate x Health Council, which we convened at #WHA77 to turn ambition into action through new models of flexible financing.

At the tail end of Wildfire Awareness Month and at the beginning of what will very likely be another smokey summer, American Forests has released our updated wildfire policy platform!
We are pleased that many of the policy priorities from our prior wildfire policy platform released in 2021 were included in the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Both laws helped increased funding in critical areas and nudge in the direction of a more comprehensive approach to wildfire policy. But, a lot more change is needed!
Our updated policy platform builds directly from the recommendations of the Wildland Fire Management and Mitigation Commission which I was honored to serve on.
American Forests is calling for policies that:
(1) Ensure severely burned landscapes adapt to future wildfire threats through active post-fire recovery, climate-informed reforestation, and the integration of fuel treatments, such as the increased use of prescribed fire and cultural burning.
(2) Create a 21st-century workforce to help our forests and communities meet the comprehensive needs for mitigation and management before and after fires occur.
(3) Establish new tools, technologies and partnerships needed to enhance an all-lands, and all-of-society approach to wildfire resilience.
(4) Track and inform all partners of the effectiveness of wildfire resilience investments to foster durable and predictable future investments and strengthen outcome-based strategies.
Climate change is driving an alarming jump in the number of large, high-severity wildfires that burn every year. In the wake of historic investments from congress, we need a policy framework that will enable the coordinated national response required to address this wildfire crisis.
Today, we are releasing our strategy and policy agenda for how we can restore resilient forests in America.

Did you know that Gary and Indianapolis two cities with Indiana’s most diverse populations, have some of the worst air quality in the country, due to industrial plants and traffic pollution, especially in communities of color? 🛫
