So much to say about this project: 1.) We had an engaged client who trusted us to take risks 2.) We aligned clearly on vision from the get-go 3.) We had gorgeous content to design around and be inspired from And I think it’s paid off. We won an award. We’re getting some attention through various industry channels. It’s nice to feel validated, but the secret sauce was this: we had a client who shared our values. We’ve been talking a lot internally about our superpowers, our stories and values. One thing remains consistent: We believe the mundane can be marvelous. That being status quo is actually riskier than digging for authenticity. That brands who are brave and have a POV will always cut through the noise. Kudos to our amazing clients, friends and collaborators over at The Mansion. Dear Siblings in The Struggle against The System, We now know that the next decade, 2025 to 2034, will be a decade of challenges—of a magnitude greater than any, perhaps, than the present generation has ever faced. Rising to these challenges will mean—at the very least—reimagining the stories our society has, up until this point, untruthfully told us about how we got free—if indeed we got free... This is why I have agreed to share conversation with the curator of the International Slavery Museum, about how museums, specifically, and in fact all members of our society, co-productively, might reimagine histories and reconstruct solidarities that, strategically, equip us for the challenges of the daunting decade ahead—a decade during which the very freedom our forebears fought for is very likely to be at stake. ⭐ National Windrush Museum Signs Historic MOU with University of Greenwich and The University of the West Indies ⭐ The National Windrush Museum (NWM) has taken a monumental step toward advancing #education, cultural #heritage, and historical #research by signing a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Greenwich (UoG) and the University of the West Indies (UWI). This landmark agreement follows the groundbreaking initial signing ceremony held at the #HouseofLords on 24 November 2023 between National Windrush Museum and Royal Museums Greenwich The signing held at UofG was graced by distinguished figures, including Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice-Chancellor of the University of the West Indies, Andrew Westby, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Greenwich, and NWM Founder and Chairman. Dr Les Johnson PhD. This agreement will lay the foundation for a series of collaborative initiatives to celebrate, preserve, and explore the rich legacy of the #Windrush generation and its contribution to global history.
