The seasons are changing here in the Florida Keys, and that means one thing: Wahoo and Sailfish season is almost here! This is my favorite time of year, and I’m fired up to get out on the water with all of you. Let me tell you what’s so special about these fish and why you should get ready for some serious action. Wahoo Are Coming In Hot! Wahoo usually start showing up as the water cools down, from late October into February. Wahoo are lightning-fast (we’re talking speeds of up to 60 mph) and known for their hard strikes. They’ve got razor-sharp teeth, so when they hit your line, you know it. I like to target Wahoo near the reef edges and deep drop-offs. Trolling at high speeds with lures or rigged ballyhoo tends to get their attention. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like the sound of a reel screaming when one of these bad boys hits! Oh, and the best part? They’re delicious. Wahoo meat is some of the best you’ll ever eat—perfect for grilling, sushi, or even a good ceviche. Limit, 2 per person. #letitridecharters #wahoo #florida #hospitality #tourism

It’s the first day of summer! Sun's out, but your budget shouldn't be! Seek out free things to do, such as local museums and outdoor activities. - Pack a picnic when you venture out to eat. Dining at home? Consider grilling outdoors a few times each week as a way to save on energy costs. - Download apps from the restaurants you eat at most often. Those reward points (and free food offers) add up. - Plan your mega summer vacation for the end of the season. Not only will you avoid bigger crowds, but you may also steer clear of peak prices.
