It’s the first day of summer! Sun's out, but your budget shouldn't be! Seek out free things to do, such as local museums and outdoor activities. - Pack a picnic when you venture out to eat. Dining at home? Consider grilling outdoors a few times each week as a way to save on energy costs. - Download apps from the restaurants you eat at most often. Those reward points (and free food offers) add up. - Plan your mega summer vacation for the end of the season. Not only will you avoid bigger crowds, but you may also steer clear of peak prices. Growing up I played peewee hockey. For every travel tournament north of NYC we stayed at a roadside hotel. And the one thing and only thing that mattered to me about the hotel selected… Waffles. Nothing pumped me up more than a DIY waffles machine on morning gameday. Turns out, I wasn’t alone. ———— Today, Hampton Inn has become the largest hotel chain in America — And it's thanks to their Waffle Strategy.... “free DIY waffles” are driving a record $10B in sales. As the WSJ put it, the Hampton Inn created a “cult” around its waffles — we consume 30M/year. But here's the surprise: 40 years ago, the hotel chain's executives said the “free waffles” strategy wouldn't work: Guests could get burned, they won’t want to make their own food, and carbs were cultural villains. But they were wrong… Turns out guests enjoyed making waffles, didn’t get burned, & loved pausing the Atkins on vacay. So today, the Hampton has become the largest hotel chain in America by revenue — And it's all thanks to a waffle iron. ⭐️ Have the instinct to go against your instincts. And have waffles for breakfast. (Pro Tip: If you add blueberries, it cancels out the chocolate chips) #marketing #businessinsight

🎄 Attention Hospitality Pros! 🎄 The elves are back, and they’ve been busy causing syrup-drenched mayhem in hotel breakfast areas everywhere. Why? Because they’re on a mission to make waffles the star of the season! Picture this: guests waking up to warm, crispy waffles, topped with their favorite festive delights—maple syrup, whipped cream, or maybe a sprinkle of holiday cheer (candy canes, anyone?). It’s a breakfast upgrade that makes the morning magical and keeps guests talking long after their stay. Just ask the Elf on the Shelf! Sure, they’re known for a little chaos, but when it comes to waffles, they have one thing right—waffles make memories. 🎅🏨 Give your guests something to waffle about this Christmas season. It’s the easiest way to spread holiday joy and keep them coming back for more! #HospitalityIndustry #WaffleMagic #ElfApproved #ChristmasBreakfastFun #HospitalityMarketing #AddWaffles
