I continue to see this sentence within job descriptions that some of our graduates share with me: "Ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules and specific time constraints" As a candidate, know that you are signing up for a chaotic work culture that struggles to focus on authentic priorities and is happy to sap every last bit of energy out of you. As employers, can we begin to scope roles realistically and staff teams appropriately? Dynamic, challenging environments are legit and employees can (and should) handle volatility, but let's not make chaos the default.

The end of May was just another month closed, closer to Qtr end, ticked off for most. To me the end of May 2024 represented an exit from my 9 years at SAP. The change in SAP family status was neither surprising nor the cause of angst. I could see it coming and made preparations accordingly. I will always look back upon the people I worked with at SAP with respect and admiration. It really was an environment that promoted learning and the acquisition of new skills. The move from SAP has presented me the opportunity to dramatically change how I move forward with my career after 20 plus years with the likes of SAP, IBM, TechnologyOne and Indus (ABB Ventyx) in this industry. I love what I do. I love working with customers to solve their business problems with process improvements enabled by Technology. Seeing customers overcome challenges and realise real bottom line improvements whilst executing on a transformation path that you helped them build is greatly satisfying. I will continue to do this but will work in a method where I can direct my efforts to have the greatest impact whilst managing the workload in a sustainable manner. ARRWILL SERVICES SINGAPORE will enable me to go on that path. Arrwill Services will be focusing on assisting Asia Pacific operators in the Energy and Utilities industries meet today’s challenges and prepare for tomorrow’s markets. Enabling Utilities and Energy organisations improve operations in a sustainable and cost effective manner. Arrwill Services will providing services in the following areas; · Develop business transformation and process optimisation roadmaps with customers in the Energy and Utilities sectors. · Work with customers to unearth, identify operational process optimisation targets that can be enabled through technology adoption. · Assist customers execute on technology agnostic adoption plans through solution and Vendor evaluations. · Work with business partners providing industry specific and operational process knowledge in the areas of ENTERPRISE ASSET MANAGEMENT, SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS, DIGITAL OPERATIONS TRANSFORMATION, AI ADOPTION, UTILITIES BILLING and CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT. · Provide Presales engagement assistance and skills enhancement training to equip presales teams to deliver effective presentations with Impact that get results. I will be engaging on projects across the Asia and ANZ regions so no doubt we will continue to see each other in the industry.
